Default AU Radiators

Hey all, just wondering if anybody actually knows there is a confirmed differance in the radiators between a 6cyl and a V8. I have been led to believe the only differance is on the V8 the auto trans cooler is bigger and thats what ive been told.

Any actual proof?

Shaun.

Just got off the phone with a dude who said that they are the same for all AU's, only difference is for manual and auto for the tranny cooler part, all come under the same listing in his book.
Will take my old one to make sure they are the same.

By the way, $199 brand new in box, im picking it up in the morning.

They are pretty much the same radiator. Aftermarket assemblies are made thicker than the orginal spec radiator.

OEM 6 CYL core thickness = 23mm
Aftermaket 6 & 8 CYL core thickness = 32mm

There were some h'duty tow pac ones made with the better plate oil coolers tho.

Too bad your not in Adelaide, i could of got you one cheaper that that

from e-series experience.

ford have 2 different radiators, one for 6 and another for v8's. They are physically different as well. the V8 radiator is more efficient as well and cheaper than the 6 cyl radiator.

aftermarket they only list 1 radiator for both applications.

I think that'll be the next step for me as well ... standard just isn't coping with load carrying.

For people after the standard AU 6-cylinder radiators .... Ozeparts sell them for $165

Radiator
Transmission: Automatic
Tank: Plastic
Core: Aluminium
No. of Row(s): 1
Thickness: 26mm
For 6 Cylinders Only

I checked under XR8 ... but I think they only supply 6-cylinder radiators.
Check out the website ... they have a contact us page ... I have called them before and they have been helpful.
