Default Heathcote today...

Broke my cherry, and had my first taste of the strip. I can now answer all those "What'll she do" questions. I had nervous first run of 13.06 @113.26mph Win, followed by a 13.03 @ 113.04mph Win and shaky 13.26@ 111.94mph Win. Gave the car a break and a cooldown while I composed myself for a fresh assault on a 12...

Second session, and still nervous I changed tack and tried a higher rev on stallup. Fourth run was woeful, messed everything up. Went 13.38 @112.42 Win then I hit my PB for the day, with a 12.60 @114,01mph Win. A solo run completed this session, with a 12.80 @117.37mph then lunch.

Third session saw my only loss for the day on the first run. Went 12.86 @113.46mph Lose Opponent ran a 12.31 @121.20 Well done Commie SS. Followed this up with a 12.84 @112.02mph Win, and a final solo of 12.81@112.64.

Thanks to Craig at Aussie Car Enhancements for the loan of a helmet and some valuable pointers. All in all it was a funtastic day. Redrum (Jas) and Aumexican (Dave)were there, but I'm sure they would rather talk for themselves. They performed very well also.

I look forward to 4.11's and a High Stall, and an auto beef up. Then I'm hunting 11's out: out:

Funny you should ask that, first 2 sessions on Nangkang NSII's 245 35 19" The last session on MT's But I have a few things to learn, as this was first ever Drag meet. I think the MT's bit very well, and a high stall and 4.11's will help with these tyres. But I was totally stoked to get a 12.6066 with cheap streeties... Go figure.... :

excellent results there redfin even better to have your 1st run at a track and run a mid 12..
I find just do 2 runs tops then a decent cooling helps with some good numbers.

I am hoping this week, Chris knows Damo at DPC Performance just around the corner from his shop, he could call him get the info quicker.

I found dont run the car under half a tank, otherwise the fuel goes to the back of the tank and it cant fill the bucket up..
With the new surge tank it shouldn't be a problem for me now, hope to try it out soon.

Yep, exactly the same reason I fill at half tank. Especially today, I filled in Melb, had just over 3/4 at Heathcote and just under half when I left. Fair strategy given the small window between a heavy tank and a problem one.

Was a great day, Dave, Kev and I all had a ball for first timers on a drag strip. I have a lot of work to do to get my manual T getting respectable times. The best I could manage was 13.25 at 105mph. I think my best reaction time was .7, best 60 foot time was 2.02. I had quite a few issues with launch and losing boost and the car bogging down. People were great at Heathcote and quite helpful. Next time I go I am already armed with heaps of advice. I had fun and enjoyed myself!

Thanx mate, all credit goes to the folks behind the scenes, namely Chris Finnin at Blue Power for the tune and injector fit. And Craig at Aussie Car firstly for sending me to Chris, and everything he's done for me since. I just thump and steer, and enjoy the results...
