Default Need advice on an 09 WS Zetec from dealership

I made a deposit on an 09 WS Zetec from a dealership (Carnet Auctions Smithfield Sydney). After making a deposit I came to realize I might have made a mistake, but this is on another thread.

Anyways, the car was in their warehouse together with hundreds of other cars. it hasn't probably been started for a long time so when we started, the battery was flat dead. they jumped it and it started but

1. after jumping, the car dies on idling, they had to rev for about 5 mins for the car to idle properly. is that because of the dead batts? i thought once started the alternator takes care of everything.

2. from headers to pipe to muffler to outlet: the part between the pipe and muffler has a dripping leak. i can see dark liquid dripping? is that normal? i know exhausts do condense water, but this one condenses water on the exhaust but also drips on the muffler head (near the input part, not the outlet part)

Mate.
How long since you purchased this car?
I would have a quick look at your states cooling off consumer laws and get out if you can.
Plenty of other Fiesta Fish in the sea.

alot of newer EFI cars need a full 12v to run the ECU so a dead batt will affect the running of the car, so revving the car a bit will get volts up enough to run it, i'd ask for a new battery before you take delivery as they only really last 3 years anyway. the liquid is probably condensation that should stop once the car is hot and been driven for a bit.

ok thanks for the battery thing.

however the leak thing on the muffler, if it's condensation it should be on the outlet. this leak i saw was at the inner part of the muffler and it's black liquid. i dont think that's normal but we'll see. the dealer said they will inspect it.
