Thanks for going out of your way for emailing Ford.
I knew Ford Australia wouldn't add this model to there range.
Even the Focus wagon is sweet as well.

I think it would be awesome to have that out here, if it could have to be priced perhaps a bit lower than in the UK (basically the same cost as the Focus ST/XR5T which is $36k out here & UKP17k there) it would be ok and good for Ford to have a presence in that market.

It's a pity the S-Max is not coming down under at this stage as looks like a fantastic MPV. For Ford Australia I guess it treads a little on Territory's feet and Euro sourcing may keep pricing too high.

Right, i will ive a breif description of how the Ford S-Max went down on Top gear on Sunday night! i hope no-one minds...

Well there were three cars tested as you already know, the Ford S-Max, Merc B-Class and the Vauxhall/Opel/Holden Zafira VXR, Richard and James tested them and to be honest the Vaxuhall was heted, there was just too much power for the fastest MPV in the world, they also couldnt see the point of paying a huge amount of money for a gloryfied A-Class(the B-Class) and the only other one there was the ford which they loved for its great handling ride easy to use interior and masses of space!. However they tested all of these cars on the track the smaller engined lighter merc on it then vauxhalls zafira came second (because it could not deliver all of its power to the road) and the S-max came last but all is ok because the S-Max was the heaviest and overall it is cheaper then the opposition so the overallverdict is they Richard and james both chose the S-max over the other two MPV's, hope this helps you

sorry if you wanted to see the show for yourself i have only given a breif description so you can stil enjoy the test drive on the show without knowing too much, just the basics!

Here is a vid link if you wanna see it S-max, top gear test
