Default Powercruise Tasmania - Symmons Plains

What a weekend of motorsport in Tassie this weekend, there was the mini TARGA, and the POWERCRUISE, plus the drags I spotted on the long way home up over the Central Highlands / Great lakes.

Below is a random selection of piccies of the power skids, Ive got some vids of the burnouts to, but my blooody useless dial up modem takes about 2 hours to upload just one tyre popping event. If you lot are interested, I will persist and get the vids up to......

Plenty of mumbo amongst some of the cars, and I watched with great interest a Harrop blown clubby try to powerskid, with not much success. Not sure if it was lacking sufficient grunt, or just had too much grip, but it wouldn't whip up 3rd gear....

Oh, the Phase 3, christ that was noice, and had some stonk!

My favourite, black blown falcon coupe. Damn thing shook the ground when he gassed it.......... and lit 'em up for about 300m.

Enjoy boys and girls.

Centura? If ya thinking CYCOV8 it's Cortina made 380hp, The blue one with the coloured smoke on both wheels is a Rambler Hornet with a stroked and blown 351 which made 700hp and is one tough cookie.

there would have been around 180 - 200 entered at rough guess but was way too hot on the sat, a mate had a thermometer there that registered 46deg, slushies and icy poles were ya friends....

Cheers Corey

Yeh mate, I know Steve, he's a loony with horsepower ah .......... :

Your Bosses 454 is mighty impressive, one of my favs. I hear he's already got some 325's and tubs to jam into that Camaro? Traction will be no issue next year me thinks.

Do you work for Euro, or Tilford mate?

Josh, you would love it, as many laps as you dare, a lot less 'controlled' from what Ive seen by the mainland event footage Ive watched, and loads of room to let that black beast rip.

Best part, it costs $65 bucks each way to get your car across on the ship right now.......

Load the ute with wheels and tyres and come down for a play next year.

I just wish I owned something with sufficient mumbo to light up top gear like a lot of the guys in the powerskids. Me thinks If I dumped the clutch in 3rd at 6 grand and tried an upchange, about the only thing that would make smoke would be the clutch....

The VY Clubbie looked like an absolute dork of a motor car compared to the other lot.
