it should look a bit better once your chrome bumper trim goes on.. although it seems to work better on darker colours where the edges of the car are less defined..

Yagz and John came around to lend a hand today. Got a fair bit done mechanical and wiring wise. All the power wires, gas wiring and starter motor wiring was finished, the drive belt was installed (after about 30 minutes of trying to remember how it was done + getting the bastard on :P), the power steering lines were fitted (need a new o-ring for the pump side fitting), and various other sensores were plugged up.

Very little is left to do to start her, by our calculation, we need to chuck in a battery, earth strap, oilfilter, ecu, thermo fans, fill her with fluids, quadruple check that all bolts and fittings are tight and cross our fingers that she'll start :P (i'm sure i've left out a few things that i can't seem to remember now). Will be a bit longer before she hits the road though, still have various things that need doing before she's drivable. I'll definately keep you all in the loop...

I'm yet again crossing my fingers that the EA will be drivable for the upcoming GOR cruise (but all this finger crossing hasn't done much good so far :P). If for some reason i wont be able to start her by monday, i may yet again be postponing her debut.

John came over yesterday to help finish off the rest of the stuff needed to get her started. Spent forever trying to fit up the return power steering line only to realise that i was trying to screw in the EA return line rather than the EF return line which has a bigger fitting on the rack side : . Finished off the last of the wiring, plugged up the last of the vacuum hoses, tightened the gas fittings, chucked in the oil filter and sump plug, made a new earth strap, fitted the ecu, filled her with fluids, double checked all plugs and now all that's left is to chuck in a battery, test for gas leaks and try to fire her up!

After that, it will be a matter of fitting up brake lines, installing the tailshaft and hooking up handbrake, clutch, accelerator and cruise control cables. Then she'll be ready for a test drive!!!

always nervous to start a car after such major work, especially when it doesnt fire first go, you start to doubt yourself.

good luck with the maiden voyage

Well guys, looks like we've run into problems (as i expected i would). Can't be bothered getting into detail but it's an electrical problem and one silly mistake made by myself (as always happens :P). LTDHO will be coming over some time this week to help trace were the problem lies, so i'm crossing my fingers that it's just a stuffed relay or something of that nature.

Needless to say that GOR is creeping up fast, so the attendance of the EA will depend on what the problem is and how quick of a fix it is.

theres an electrical short basically.
gotta trace it down, and rectify it.
we've got some ideas on what needs to be fixed but not sure if thats the only thing thats wrong.

car had power, but some things were on when they werent meant to be, somethings werent working.

Origionally the dash lights power windows etc were working. The smartlock jewel was flashing quicly but we got it to relearn the key, but smartlock jewel stayed engaged. Left the car overnight with the battery on charge, and now nothing works.
