Not surprisingly, F150, Silverado 1500 and Ram1500 are the same,
mostly crew cabs and mostly shopping trolleys during the week...

Mustang outsells Commodore again, surprise.

My old mate will dispute and come up with why Commodore sales will rise to a few thousand.

Dead brand Holden.

Put 20" wheels & 275 Tyres on your Terri and you may change you mind.
it changes the dynamics significantly - should have been a factory option.

Then again there are a lot of should of could of's with Ford I guess they cant please everyone

Even Colorado had a poor month, and that's the one they are relying on to get sales. The whole brand is just poison.

Equinox bombed big time too. Holden were predicting over 1000 sales a month and it hasn't even got within half that.

I doubt Ford are even bringing in any Fiesta's now. Just running out whatever dealer stock they have cause it isn't getting replaced, except for the ST which is arriving early next year.

Focus is in run out too, new model is due November.

Mondeo is getting a facelift next year but medium sedans are being slaughtered everywhere across all manufacturers. Even Camry is 50% down.

There's truth in what arronm says. And economic nationalism is rising world wide, especially Western nations. Keeping importation fully open to a group of mercantilists who manipulated everything from their currency to environmental and labour laws in order to gain market share, was not smart. A pity we lost our car industry before the pendulum has begun to swing back.

The auto industry had been on life support at least 10years before it finally shut. Very little to do with how many were bought. Scales of economy, govt policy, trade agreements, and not to mention the costs involved in retooling much of our factories here....

not to mention that when given the choice, the Australian market
chose just about everything else but traditional Aussie large cars.

Falcon and Commodore were a paradox of opposites,
contracting from a broad range of models that suited many buyers,
the more extreme they were made to appease their enthusiasts,
the fewer they actually sold..

Add the fact that no individual vehicle sold in Australia today sells more then 4000+ units per month at best. No where near enough for any manufacturer building here and selling predominantly here to survive with products selling at mainstream prices. If Toyota couldn't make the "numbers" work with a predominantly export skewed sales mix no one else was going to either.

putting up import barriers while gleefully accepting all our
