Hi,
As I've never ordered a new ford in Australia before, just wondering how/where the delivery port in Oz is? Coming from Thailand, does Ford basically deliver them to a single port in Oz and then ship from there, or if it's a Qld car it goes to Brisbane, NSW to Sydney etc. What have your experiences been? Once it's at the port, how long until it goes to the dealer?  Thanks

Judging by the amount of car carriers I see here on the Hume everyday, carrying the same cars but in opposite directions your guess is as good as the next guy as to where they land them.

Shipping from Thailand is into Various ports on the east coast, plus Fremantle.
However Ford spends a fortune on redistributing by rail and road - usually because they get the initial distribution wrong. |

If your dealer gives you the name of the vessel, you can track it on line.
I ordered a new car (not a Ford) which was already in transit. When I started tracking the vessel was approaching Auckland, it then traveled Brisbane, Wollongong, then Port Melbourne where my car was unloaded. The ship was then making its way to Fremantle. |

Yep Car Carrying vessels come out of Asia then to NZ then Brisbane, Port Kembla (got kicked out of Sydney a few years ago), Melbourne then Fremantle.
We have started using them to distribute some steel products (ex-Port Kembla) around the Australian coastline. There's some competition the Rail monopoly didn't see coming, hahaha.
