I think we'd have some idea by now; that video is 6 years old.

Well you can scratch the Ford Focus Active from the US line up. Due to Trump's proposed 25% tariff on Chinese cars the US will not be receiving the Active. Apparently this decision is final even if the tariff gets dropped. Apparently GM are also concerned for their proposed China sourced cars.

Imagine if they had a factory in the Pacific region that the tariffs were not in place on..... I bet they wish they kept Broadmeadows now.

That would be the RWD replacement cars for Lincoln, the MKZ and Continental are bleeding red ink..
At the moment, Flat Rock is scratching to keep two shifts operating and lots of
down weeks being planned late in the year..

With the US passing on Focus Active, my guess is that they will push Ecosport
and maybe attractive discounts on ICE Fusion where they had intended to just
push the more profitable hybrid and PHEV energi versions..

It's all about pulling easy levers, product that's already available with a bit of
push advertising and incentives...

I can’t wait for the day in the future when Ford potentially releases a larger 4 door and the ensuing CGI images tagged “Falcon” and “GT”.
The real question though is will they do it first with a Falcon derivative or “SS Commodore”?

Not sure why they didn't just get them from Saarlouis in Germany instead. Cost I suppose.

How good would it be if they made a new US built Falcon, with Ecoboost V6 or Coyote V8 (unlikely). While Holden have a front wheel drive 4 cylinder "Commodore" to compete against.

I certainly wouldn’t complain.
They’d get good performance from all of those powertrains.

Speaking of the ZB has anyone actually sat in one?
Forget the performance and forget it’s looks, the worst part about that car imo is the horrible foot rest.
It’s built up under the carpet and at least 2” to high.
Very, very uncomfortable.

The essential ingredients for a CD6 is all there and much better DNA than anything Falcon had.
The thing that gets me though is that the moment you talk HP sedan, two things happen:
1. Mustang sales are directly threatened
2. The business case fades because of Chevrolet SS poor sales.

See this is the problem with regional centric design preferences,
they sometimes don't transfer well to other markets and regions
with different preferences...

Holden't biggest problem is that they just can't convince enough
buyers to even take a look at the thing, it doesn't even get a look.

In the US yeah, they don't really dig 4 door sports sedans but I thought the Charger 4 door sells ok?

The Chev SS was deliberately handicapped by GM with a high price and very limited supplies, due to CAFE. They didn't want to sell too many as it was going to effect that so they fully loaded it up with a price tag to match.
