After the meeting on Wednesday night people were talking about having some BBQ
chickens and salad(instead of cooking BBQ)
They also said for people to bring own drinks and nibbles

Thumbs up

Non-members are usually welcome on most trips as long as they follow Club guidelines such as normal road rules, convoy procedure (to ensure no-one gets left behind) and commonsense safety.

I think there'll be about 10 or more vehicles travelling tomorrow.

Apparently the bbq lunch is off so either take your own or buy something when you get there.

Great, i'm looking at joining the club, so it will be good to come and introduce myself to you all. The mr's is working a night shift, so I guess the final call will be up to her in the morning. I'll do my best to come along.

Cheers . . .

Looking at the pics and the social fun you're having reminds me of my old club days and car runs with the mini car club so much so that I've just got to ask - Can someone fill me in on the Newcastle car club?
My new XR6T is supposed to be delivered on the back of a truck tomorrow. (Sure will get the neigbours talking)

This club was originally a sub-branch of the Sydney based, FPV-Tickford Club of NSW, and was first formed in April 2003. The club was run in that format until the FPV & XR Owners Club of Newcastle was formed as a separate entity in October 2004 with our first meeting being held in December 2004.

The Sydney club's origin dates back to December 1999, when the then XR and Tickford Owners Club of NSW was formed by charter members Simon Moran, Mike Hansen and Sam Castelli. By November 2000, the club had grown to about 20 members. At the request of Ford's performance arm, Tickford Vehicle Engineering, the name was changed to “Tickford Owners Club of NSW”. That club affiliated with CAMS (Confederation of Australian Motorsport) in April 2002, and was incorporated in July 2002. A sub-branch was formed in the ACT in June 2002. In January 2003, the club had a total of 180 members, and after the retirement of the Tickford name by Ford and subsequent introduction of FPV the name was again changed to its present title of FPV-Tickford Club of NSW.

Following the departure of the ACT club in 2004, the Newcastle sub-branch members also decided to become a stand alone organisation. The FPV & XR Owners' Club of Newcastle started with 5 committee members and now has about 60 members and our club patron is V8 Supercar driver, Jason Bargwanna.

Sydney , ACT and Newcastle clubs interact from time to time at various events in recognition of our common bond, a love of Ford performance vehicles and support of the “blue oval” in motor sport.

Full Membership is open to persons who currently own/drive Ford motor vehicles originally modified by Tickford Vehicle Engineering, Ford Performance Vehicles, or a Ford XR.

For example :- EB to BA XR6s, XR6Ts, XR8s (Sedans, Wagons and Utes), T Series cars (TE50, TL50 & TS50s), Club Sprint Capris, Tickford Fairlanes, EB & EL GTs, Pursuit Utes, BA GTs and GTPs and 2001 onwards Mustang Cobras.

If you're interested in joining, why not come along on a trip to meet the gang (trips are usually advertised on the forum) or attend the next meeting at Kloster Ford Hamilton on February 1, 2006.

Hope to meet you soon.

Thanx for the info WazzaXR8 - much appreciated

Just might have to turn up and intro myself in Feb.
I'll keep checking for more details as the date approaches.
Used to have a Tickford AU Fairmont Ghia (may it RIP) - I'm looking forward to having some real fun again with the XR6T ;)

No worries. BTW Meetings start 7.30pm but we often get there early (between 7 and 7.15) : and chat and (nearly) always go 4 coffee at King Street Maccas afterwards.
