Default V8 Supercar Body Kit

For those who have seen my car I have an AU III with a V8 Supercar kit on it. Someone decided it would be fun to back into it, but did atleast wait to pay their way, but I am left looking for a replacement Front Bar.

Anybody know where I can find a replacement??

See Before and afters below!

Make sure you get a good replacement. I had a this kit on my car molded from the real supercar moulds and it always was breaking on those corners. One i had a new one made it was ok. If you try and repair that one it will break again... The weight in those bars is crazy.

Going in to thr assessors tomorrow, Finally. Will perhaps inspire me to bring it back to its pristine former self, and keep it there.

I can remember someone in the XR6/XR8 Club of QLD having the moulds for the AU supercar body kit. Might be worth asking there!!

Not many repairers locally want to repair it. Given that the guy has stumped with insurance details, I may as well get a newey, and keep the old one for,,,,,,,,,whatever!

Okay, to dredge this thread, the car is in for repairs this week. As long as I had to get it done and hire a car, I arranged them to do everything required.
TS50 wing, repaint boot, damaged when some scum decided he wanted my badges, repaint both rear doors, damaged at Ford (rhr) and carpark dent (from kids kicking open rear door on a 4wd into my lhr. Repaint the rear bar and redo the front for stonechips (bonnet and guards)

I will post up some pics when done.

Mike

PS, Rental car is a Corolla, OMFG Toyotas have gone shite. What a pusscarriage!

I have recently bought one of the fiberglass ones without the mounting brackets. Does anyone know where I can get them or is it just a try and see thing?

You can take the ones off your current bar. The time it takes, I got a new set from Ford, cost $70 iirc for the lot.

BTW, Pick up car tomorrow!

Good to hear you get your car back tomorrow Mike.

Did that kit include all the brackets or just screws and clips?

You don't happen to remember the part number do you? Lol

Just the brackets. Takes a huge amount to prep it to the point you put it on your car. Probably 20 hours front, and given the rear bar was off a race car, and somewhat 2nd hand, probably 40 hours.

No part numbers sorry!

Okay, a bit slow updateing. Car has been in and major bits done, but a hold up with time and parts over Christmas, as well as poor weather has ensured it is not done yet.
Repaired and repainted rear bar. Replaced Front Bar. Repairing old front bar atm for a spare or to fit to a Ute if I lean that way?? Rear wing replaced from a Hawk wing to a T3 TS50. Repainted Bonnet and Boot. Touched up a few other bits.
Still needs to be Buffed and polished and RHF Inner Guard needs to be fitted, as well as body coloured bonnet protector needs fitting.
Here's some quick snaps.

You know how every time you finish a bit on the car, another bit rears its ugly head and starts to niggle. I have always planned to replace the wheels, and have them in the shed, but now the side skirts are getting there (annoying me) and it is likely then I will start to look at the 'Bulge'! Who Knows??

Cheers,
Mike

Looks like your car and mine will be be related to each other : I have the other supercar front and rear skirt with a GT-P boot wing, wil be getting the V8 skrits and the bulge bonnet soon.
I think the V8 supercar skirts will set it off just nicely and the bulge bonnet will be a nice addition to and a nice silver stipe to brake up the blue.
