Australia Day Long Weekend January 22nd 23rd 24th 25th

It’s on again! One of the clubs most anticipated weekends away is only a couple of months away. We have celebrated this weekend away in Woolgoolga for the past 3 years, this year we have moved the event to the River Side Caravan Park at Failford. Most likely we will be heading there mid afternoon Friday the 22nd and set up camp. Friday night is make your own entertainment night, Saturday we will be heading to Tun O Fun or the Big Buzz fun park (still unsure) and after that we will be heading back to camp for a game of tennis or you can make your own recreational games for the afternoon. Saturday night will be Killers Krazy Karaoke night! So we will have to do a lot of recreational games during the afternoon to get the courage to enter! Sunday is a cruise to Bulahdelah pub for a counter meal lunch via the Lakes Way, then back down the highway to Nabiac to visit the Motorcycle Museum. After that we will be heading back to camp for more recreational games, and after dinner there will be a V8 super challenge on the PS2, I would say the club will have to make a prize for the winner. Monday morning we will pack up camp and head home. In up and coming newsletters we will be adding prices for the weekend. Peter Garstang and David Ireland have won themselves free camping and food for the weekend thanks to the club raffle. Camping fees are $25 per site per night, and we will be camping for 3 nights. The club has booked 11 campsites, we need a $40 deposit from members that want to go to book your campsite. This is not a car weekend, but it is a weekend away having a whole heap of fun with other club members, not to be missed. If you want a site, contact Steven Jubb on 0412925888

We will be meeting at the Autobarn car park at 9:00 AM and departing at 9:30 AM on Saturday the 23rd. It will be a steady cruise down the highway to the River Side Caravan Park at Failford. All the southerners that are comming along will meet us at the caravan park around 10:45 AM - 11:00 AM. The address of the park is 5 Failford Rd cnr Bullocky Way, Failford. Costs for camping are on the first post in this thread. We will not be going to the fun parks due to the costs involved, instead we have brought items along to make the days enjoyable at the park. Our usual game of cricket will happen, Julz will be bringing along the playstation and dress up items where we will be playing singstar and V8 super cars at night, we are bringing along a 14ft boat and items that we can tow behing the boat like ski tubes, life jackets will be brought along also. If you have a boogie board or a knee board, or an item that you want to be towed along at the back of the boat, you are welcome to bring it along. Our camp site is next to the river so access to the boat is easy and available all day. Bring your fishing rods if you want to do a spot of fishing as we will be doing this also in the boat. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU NEED TO TAKE MONDAY OFF WORK AS MONDAY IS NOT A PUBLIC HOLIDAY. THE CLUB WILL BE SUPPLYING BREAKFAST AND DINNERS AND SOME LUNCHES FOR $30 PER PERSON FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND, OR $5 PER MEAL, WHICH WILL INCLUDE SOFT DRINKS. We will be packing up and heading home on Tuesday morning, so it will be 3 days and 3 nights of fun. If you can not make the whole weekend and can only make it for a day or two, we will have a spot for you, we have a very large area available to us next to the river, so if you only have 1 day available, head on down and join in on the fun....and dont forget to bring the swimmers. I have a 4M Quintrex Explorer Trophy boat and will be happy to take fishing runs (two people) per run for about an hour each on Saturday. I have rods and gear so just need fishermen. Happy to take kids but they will need life jackets and I dont have them.
See you Friday afternoon for a catch up but Jackie and I prefer our nice compfy bed at home in Forster each night.

That sounds great Barry, 1st thing i need to point out is that we are travelling down there on Saturday morning and we will be there around 11:00 AM, so dont come around Friday. We have 18 confirmed adults and 3 kids that are comming for the whole weekend, and you should not be short of fishermen, i will be bringing a rod or 2. Sunday, Alan Loveday should be comming down for the day and he is bringing the jet ski, so there is more entertainment for us. We have plenty of life jackets comming. Those that are comming, please remember to bring along your hats, sunscreen, aeroguard, fold up chairs. Everybody knows that it is BYO alcohol. The club will have a range of soft drinks available.
