Unhappy Smartshield light stays on constantly. No start.

Ok AU gurus,
Just had a locksmith come do a PATS reset on an XR8 that was “immobilised”
Smartshield light was flashing quickly when ignition on.

He said there was zero keys stored in the BEM. After reprogramming the keys and doing a BEM PCM parameter reset the car still won’t start and the smartshield light comes on and stays on when ignition is on. (Light should go out after Smartshield is happy it’s not being stolen).

What is going now...?!

Also possibly related...
The remote fobs can’t be programmed either as the system won’t go into learn mode.
Rear demister is working ok. And no blown fuses.

Central locking isn’t working correctly either. Button on the dash locks/unlocks all doors ok.
Can lock all doors with key but will only unlock drivers door with key.

BEM cooked?
