ED XR6 is far far greater than a stock EF.

Bit early to be on the bottle isn't it?

Id keep the XR6 mate, far better resale value in that, km's dont matter, as long as the car is serviced regularly. My EL has 215xxxkm's and its perfect!

To answer your question, i'd be selling your XR privately to get a better price, and i'd be looking for an ef/el not at a dealers, because you never know what sort of C^&P they are feeding you.
What price range are you working with?

You would get far greater resale value by selling your ED XR6 privately.
The klms in the XR's doesn't seem to worry those that are true XR nutters (bit like myself actually, my EF XR6 is almost 300thousand and climbing lol)..

The price for the EF Futura sounds a little high but then it is from a car yard and you are going to pay a little more there than privately searching and bartering.
All that said though, you can always talk the car yard down. Tell them you will pay a straight 3Grand and see what he says.

I sold an EF Futura last year for $2500 but that was without reg etc.

You might find a cheaper one if you hunt through the private sale ads (either here on the forum, carsales etc), but if you like that other one when you go look that will decide for you.

Good luck

Since you've got a lot of interest just in this thread with ppl badly wanting an ED XR6, you should fetch a really good price.

Then shop around for the right EF/EL, if your lucky a well kept XR6 maybe.

I love the smooth shape too ;)

That's an average price. But they can be had for pennies. Currently two EF's for sale in my area. One for $1200 the other $1500.
