Sad to see a true pioneer of the "Surf Guitar" has passed away..

Thanks to guys like him I still have a lot of surf music on my phone playlist.
Loved it in the 60s and still love it now.

It’s only a few days since I was listening - on YT - to a klezmer band covering Misirlou. Strange coincidence. Slid backwards into an appreciation of him as an “angry young man” following full-tilt musicians like SRV - when the collaboration posted below came out it was mind-bending!

Mr Dale was made of stern stuff, I’d credit those Eastern Bloc genes for some of his amazing longevity (in terms of performing popular musicians) - especially in the face of multiple serious illnesses over 50 years.
