Default Mondeo Key

Hi, I only have one fob for my car and I discovered on the weekend that the car won't unlock with the key. I can unlock using the fob, just not the key.

I've been trying to sort out what is causing my car to intermittently not start and one thing that was suggested is to unlock the car with the key.

Would there be a reason the key won't work? Or could this point to what the auto electrician said about me needed a new key? The only error they were able to find with the car was a communication error and suggested that the key could be what is causing the car not to start.

Default Re: Mondeo Key

I had issues with the key not starting the car, turned out to be the ignition switch at the base of the key barrel

As for the key not working in the door, try to blow a little dry lubricant like graphite powder into the key hole - Do not use a wet lubricant like WD40, it just attracts dust and makes things worse. Then gently turn and wiggle the key until you get some movement.
