Default Speedo troubles???

hey, i just noticed before that when i rev my car in neutral (clutch in, in gear/clutch out, out of gear) that my speedo climbs slightly. Say i rev to 3000rpm my speedo will move to about 40km/h in neutral..........im am scratching my head over this one, has anybody had or got the same thing???
Or thinks they know what it could be..

Could be the Speedo Sender in the Gearbox? It may have run it's life out. :(
