Default FG GTP intercooler upgrade

this week we put the Herrod intercooler kit to the test,

bog stock GTP manual rolled 334rwkw,

we then fitted the following parts

Herrod intercooler kit
Herrod boost pulley upgrade kit, which includes both top and bottom pulleys
CHP 100lb injectors
CHP Custom tune

car retained the stock GTP exhaust system for the moment,

result 439rwkw and one very happy owner

next mods for this car is a pair of cats and catback system, ethenol fuel system and a Eflex custom tune. should net another 30rwkw with those mods. will put more up as the mods get done

Dale

With E85, how will the intank pump cope?

Will this be upgraded or will it be used as a pre pump to fill a surge tank of some sort?

intank pump will be fine and used to fill a surge tank, have stock ford pumps that have done over 100,000 km on the corn juice and have had no problems,

That's good to know.

My lease is up in just over a year and cant justify another large car as a daily, but its threads like this that may sway me into a gs or gt.

So much linear and usable power from such simple mods.

Well as you can see the full herrod kit delivers the power as we say with very few changes . No throttle bodys or exhausts keeping the costs down.

Hi Guys

Thought i should post some results after spending the day at Eastern Creek with the car yesterday on the FPV Drive day.

Firstly, thank you to CHP, Dave, Dale, Chris and Richie did an absolute top notch job installing all the new parts, and as Dale has said, you can't really tell there is anything different with the car.

Firstly, a bit about the car on the street.
I would have to say, this is the best car i have ever driven on the street!
It has perfect maners, and the power delivery is so linier, its just a perfect car to drive.
Having only had it back for a few days, i will have it a guess that the economy seems to be better already too! Watching the instant eco when cruising, it is definatly lower than when it was stock.

Now to yesterday,
Anyone who has done one of the drive days will know, that you start off in the morning with some learning excersises to teach you about your car, and then in the afternoon you get to do some track time.

Once i got out on the track yesterday, all i could say is WOW!
The car is so resposive in any gear, which makes corner exits a brease and with the torque the car has, you can pick a higher gear and just accellerate out of the corners.
The really impressive thing was how the intercooler was working!
I did 20+ laps of Eastern Creek short circuit back to back, and the power was the same throuhout the entire day! No loss of power due to intake temps, it just was brilliant lap after lap!
Everyone of the instuctors could not believe the punch that it had, and furthermore couldn't believe that lap after lap it was the same.

I have to say, when you shift from the top of 3rd into 4th and it still throws you back in you seat, you know that the power is there!

Anyone who has done the course knows they make you go through the pits every lap, as the don't want you doing the front straight at speed, as its a no helmet day, but comming out of the last corner, before entering pit lane, i was hitting 190kmph, which is stagering in such a short space.

To finish up all i would like to say is,

Thank you to Herrod for making such great gear that the car is able to do what it does!
Thank you to CHP, for making this the best car i have ever owned, and without a doubt the fastest!

Thanks guys,

Marc

Cats and Cat back system will make no difference to the power output from what others have done. (maybe 3-5kw)
Great result from what's been done
