David here,
BF early series 1.
Joined to ask about vibration / rear end bushes.
Have now done all rear end bushes, no different.
Vibration still there. Internal rearview mirror vibrating seems to be a secondary problem to what is causing the vibration. Driveline? Bent 1/2 axle? Not front end as steering wheel is fine. Brakes dragging, don't think so.
Any help appreciated

Hi all and thanks for letting me join.
Its been a while between fords. My first car was a 2 door 1600 escort and my "new" ford is a 64 1/2 mustang coupe.
I'm new to owning V8's and am looking to put an au 5.0 in the mustang as it is not a matching numbers car.

Howdy all. I'm Gary and I own a 2010 WS Fiesta Econetic with just on 60K kms on the clock that we call Fester. I can average under 4 l/100kms around town if I drive it exclusively, however my wife can easily bring that figure up to 4.5 if she drives it too. We've had it for two years and it's the cheapest car to run (fuel, insurance, rego and maintenance) that I've ever owned.

I do all my own servicings but, being a diesel, it is a lot dirtier to work on than previous petrol cars I have owned. I am currently doing the 60K km service and have run into an issue with physical fitment of an aftermarket fuel filter (Ryco Z795), which I have posted a thread about in the four cylinder workshop sub-forum.

Gidday Everyone,

Names Robert and I am in Darwin NT. I have had a ZB Fairlane for about four years now and I have finally started taking the plunge and doing more work on it myself.

22 years ago in South Australia I had a ZB and me and the misses started going out in it. I sold it to take a job overseas but it was our pride and joy. Couple of years later we got married in my mates ZB and then for the next 15 years we looked for one too buy at the right time when we had some money together.

10 years ago we moved to Darwin and 4 years ago our dream came true and I dug this one out of a paddock at Humpty Doo. It had been sitting in the wet season for 7 years without the GT scoop on it so the water had gone down the carny and filled up the block with water. Anyway long story short after 15 years of marriage it's the second best thing in our life other than our son. Every time we drive it then it's another fond memory.

Anyway I spent a bit of money along the way on paint job and engine rebuild but I have been paying the local mechanic to do the mechanical stuff.

I restore old motorbikes for a hobby and that's never bothered me including engine rebuild and paint job but I have always been daunted by the car.

Had some issue over the weekend like modifying the exhaust system. Vacuum leak on the Carby and brake warning light coming on so thought it's about time to man up and take it on. The forums are great in the restored motorbike community and I am hoping that this forum will be similar with people happy to share knowledge and experience.

All the best.

Thumbs up Re: Welcome to New Members - Post here to say gday!

Hello all
Thank you for the add to ford forums.
I drive a fg xr6T ute, I recently purchased a 76 XC witch I'm working on to fill my weekends and it's certainly doing that.
Under the bonet is a 351c that I've put alot of time into.
It was 1 step forward, 2 steps back but finally on top of it.
Love the blue oval
Cheers again 👍

Hi all,

I'm wanting to get a ute , some may say 'that's simple' , and so it is---

---unless you live in Hervey Bay -----

--and have a budget that also includes trading a 2012 Swift which limits you pretty well to local car stealerships with cash for the difference and you don't want to spend more than about $14/15k no matter how it's put together.

As a clue as to why this is not easy one local yard has an 2008 Hollybum VE in nice nick and only wants on the north side of $20k for it.

And that'd be about the only second hand ute on a yard locally , that I know of anyhoo.

Here's pics of the Swift

http://s1375.photobucket.com/user/basho49/slideshow/

If anyone knows of one in Hervey Bay or is selling one and fancies a Swift and cash PM me.

I was thinkin' about an FG till I started reading the 226 page 'whats wrong with your FG' thread , now I'm not so sure .

If anyone could recommend any particular series I would be gratefull.

Hello all,

I'm the whale (Whale) from the Hills District of Northern Sydney, and my ride is a EF XR6 5 speed that I've owned since new and hardly used (42Ks) due to a succession of leased company cars. Now that I've retired at 65 yrs, my Wife and me have decided to start using the not-so old girl on some long weekday excursions to visit our sons and their families in Regional NSW, and it's through those that I've identified a few mods that I'd like to make like cruise. Hence my first post to the technical forum.

Cheers, Whale

Hi All,

A brief intro. My name is Matt and I live in the Adelaide.

I bought a new FG F6 in April this year. I am new to Ford as a brand and looking to network with other F6/FPV owners.

I will upload a pic when I get an opportunity.

Happy Friday everyone. I'm Andrew, a newby. Ive had an AUII Ute,2001, for almost 10 years. I've had this problem with it before where after jump starting, the engine won't turn over with full battery power. Starter works fine, but it won't turn over, like it doesn't recognize my key . I'm stuck on a farm with it and thought I'd try here for advice before it costs me an arm and a leg to have it towed into mechanics. Does anyone know of a sequence to go through to repair the Smartshield link with engine management? Any help or referrals would be appreciated.

Hello there, looking forward to gleaning information from all the subscribers. I have an XY which I have had for 23 years and just finished a nut and bolt resto, it is running a 408 and I am just freshening up a ZD Fairlane 500. While Iam here, can anyone tell help with the Fairlane trim code T, is it Chamois?

Thanks Garf.
