Default Headlight protection

Got a S/H set of hard plastic headlight covers with a bonnet protector, $20 so cant complain but the headlight covers I think could look better.

Looked a clear vinyl but cant find anything big enough for FG.

so what have you peeps used? Do I go ebay and get flat stuff and cut to size?

why not just get a headlight restoration kit and polish the covers back up.

headlight glass is in great condition and want it to stay that way, hopefully using 3m vinyl film or something will give extra protection from stones and bloody birds.

Are you wanting to put the vinyl film on the headlights or the headlight protectors?

dang thats not clear is it?

OK Ive got the hard plastic genuine Ford headlight cover, same as the bonnet protector, but it looks bulky and rough so was hoping to put something like a protection film/vinyl over the headlight glass

Ah right, as headlights are no longer made of glass I think the sun will cause more damage than stones or birds.

I took the crappy clear???? (read crazed yellow) plastic stick on covers off the XF when I bought it, nice clean original glass underneath. I'll take my chances.
Wonder if you could make some padded colour coded vinyl daytime covers for the FG I had something like that on the old dual rounds on a HX PV years ago. Just remember to take them off at dusk.
