What? Troll? I was replying with the quote above mine. I would prefer the 4 cyl beast that will do 0-100kmh in 4.5 sec that turns corners ( eg. RS and C45) against the mighty Miami. Well if we are going there, I'd best don my cardigan and go for the humble RS4 Avant which does the same 4.7 as the RS focus in the sedate, family man's station wagon body. And AWD, and a 4.2L V8. See, there is a way out for us V8 loving dinosaurs once the hot hatches take over

I agree with this so much. RS is a great car but I would buy a Mustang or Xr8 over the RS any day of the week.
In the same way I would rather buy an XR8 over a XR6T. Yes the 6 Turbo may be quicker and use less fuel, but it's not a V8 and I love V8's

I’m a V8 man through and through but this discussion if nothing else has made me very keen to have an opportunity to take an RS for a test drive just to experience it.

Focus hasnt been used in WRC for years now. Its not Fiesta.

Yeah they are pretty nice actually. I always forget they exist.
Skoda is one of those manufacturers that I don't know much about and never really think about them. Them along with Citroen, Peugeot and Renault.

This car will be awesome. I must say that I miss my old turbo AWD car for dynamics. Nothing like hooking it around a corner in the wet and knowing you'll make it. I have no such confidence in my XR50. But I didn't buy the XR50 for that. I knew what I was getting into when I bought it and I'm enjoying the car for what it is. Having said that, I doubt I'd ever buy another RWD car again. Either AWD or FWD for the next car.

Great car the RS. Wont be long unfortunately until there are more V8s. They will go the way of the dinosaurs unfortunately

Guess you mean to say "there are no more v8's".

I miss my old WRX for being able to blow away pretty much anything at the lights. 0-100 is what counts in my book. A good 1/4 mile time is nice but not real usable on the roads.

Would love to drive a Tesla. 0-100 in 2.9, that would be sweet.

Yeah I am in the same boat. I miss my WRX. The F6 is ok and can be fun sometimes, but you cant use the power on the street and you have no confidence when it comes to corners. I used to enjoy being flat foot on the accelerator through corners or roundabouts, but now its scary trying to guide a land barge through them lol

This is is good news! Again, it's amazing to see and hear people talking about these cars...people who have never considered the brand!

Dont (or let articles like this) be hating on each other. Let's see the bigger picture - Cars like these are bringing much needed excitement to the badge.

Comparing the 0-100 times of the RS or XR6 turbo or XR8 is really a pointless exercise in the real world, and on actual roads. I don't believe that any (non-race) driver could tell the difference between times of 4.2 secs, or 4.5 secs or 5 secs from behind the wheel.

Tenths of seconds variance is purely theoretical.

Yep definitely agree.
It might be faster than the Falcon and Mustang, but it would still be number 3 on my shopping list.

Like in the naked ute thread I said I would love to see a decent price ute with a V8 diesel in it, others say 6 cylinders are just as powerful/tourquey these days. Yes, that's true, but they aint a V8.
