Exclamation 83 Laser Problem Please Help!!!!

Hi
I have a 1983 laser hatch 1.5 ltr auto, I was driving home when i heard a ticking sound so i pulled over to realise that the temperature was in the red.
I let it cool down and put water in the radiator but when trying to start the water pumps straight back out the cap.

I have checked the oil for water but the oils fine and now it won't start
No banging or ticking when i try to kick it over, just wont start......

Please Help
Thanks
Glenda

So there's water coming out via the radiator cap? If so sounds like the cap/seal is busted and not sealing it in. Grab another one. Only a few bucks from Repco etc.

Though that doesn't sound like the bigger problem. From your description I don't think I can help, take it to the closest radiator place and let them have a look. Most give free quotes.

if the radiator people cant fix it

the head gasket may have blown or the head warped letting water into the combustion chamber
have the plugs removed to see if there is water in the combustion chamber

Water may not be present.. Try checking your oil dipstick, clean it, put it back in, take it back out, if it is milky it indicates you have water in your sump, a big problem..(TIC)

Take note of the above also.. and to add to it prior to overheating was the car drinking water really fast and you having to top it up constantly?
