I reckon a blast up to the Hinze dam might be the go.

For all us Brisbane members, where do we want to meet up and what time?

Springwood Maccas it is...

If anybody has handheld UHF's, then I suggest that you bring them. I have a spare one if anyone would like to borrow it for the day.

Just off the M1 heading South. Exit 22 I believe, but maybe someone can confirm. It's the Rochedale Rd exit anyway.

You're more than welcome to borrow the radio too.

I can't see the point of going 53kays up the highway then turning around and coming straight back past home.

I'm in Southport.

Can I meet you guys on the way through to the dam?

Well thats what I was thinking as well, but I thought you might have been cooking up some crazy scheme!

I would PM the guys going from the Goldie and see what their plans are. But I'm sure we could stop off on the way through for you.

How about Nerang? That's just down the road from me and on the way to the Dam?

How does that suit the Coast guys?

So if the brissie crew leave from Springwood Maccas at 3.15pm and meet up with the Gold Coastians at Nerang at say 3.50 for a 4pm leave? Or is that leaving things too late?

What does everybody think?

Well us Brisbaneites should meet you there too, so maybe leave Springwood a little earlier. No point dribs and drabs of us going to the dam, may as well all go there as one group.

Maybe Hinze Dam, then a run through Surfers, and then to an end at a Mc Caf'e for a coffee and some food and a chat?

So,
Maccas Springwood 2:45 for a 3:00pm depart
Movie World Carpark 3:30 for 3:45 pm depart.
Bring UHF radios to keep in touch, they are greatly handly.
Make sure your cars are roadworthy, check your tyres and brakes and fluids before leaving.
This is a cruise organised on the forums, so no silly behaviour, otherwise it will most likely be reported and you will most likely be banned.
Thats about all, make sure you bring water to drink, and a good attitude

How long will it take to get to the dam from Movieworld? I am going to bring my camera to get some group shots and what not, just concerned about lack of lighting, but it should be ok.

CliffM, did you still want to use my spare UHF?

Also, is anyone going to bring a video camera?

Daniel

P.S. StealthAU, just come along, you know you want to! Who cares what your car is like, not me thats for sure.

Yes and Yes, I think that makes sense? If it doesn't I can bring a movie camera, but I am also bringing two digital slrs, I am a photog by profession, even if I ain't working at the moment....I am also a journo so I am hoping this might lead to a story in some publication, we'll look at that later.

I can give someone a crash course in using the video....

I would still like the radio, I would really like to record some stuff, nothing too personal of course, just enough to make a story interesting....

It might pay for someone to check with gccc as most of the roads into the dam are closed while construction on the dam wall is in progress. Might need to think of an other venue
