I think clothes pegs are more desirable than the All New Commodore.

If a boosted engine puts out 50% more power and torque than the atmo version of the same motor but uses 25% more fuel to do so it's still a more efficient motor.

Every turbocharged engine ever made. Pull the turbo off any engine and tow with it in NA form. See who is the fuelaholic.

Pull 70 tonne in say a Cummins 525. Chuck the turbo in the bin. Start crying about your larger than normal fuel bill.
What is this thread even about? What the hell is a Commodore? Must be something from back in the olden days. Way before my time.

Also turbo are so efficient that most make max torque real low in the rev range right through so they have the characteristics of larger engines , just not the reliability
The fuel efficiency gain is being compared to the larger displacement which they are replacing which is substantial

I went and had a look at the ZB at my Southport Gc Holden dealer at 840am today. No sales people approached me. All busy having their start up coffee and checking Instagram and facebook no doubt.

Surprised me there was only 4 ZB, there but also 3 or 4 brand new SV6 and 5 or 6 brand new HSV,s. The factory stopped building in October. The HSV stopped in December.

Comments on ZB. As previously commented on the colour range is woeful does not do the car justice.

The grille is awful.

Side and rear okay.

I think price wise they represent good value. A diesel wagon would suit me nicely. Saw a Mondeo wagon straight after and I think the ZB wagon looks better.
Change the grille, have better colour options. An AWD diesel high rider touring wagon mmm that would be okay.

What would one of these cost. Oh that's right you cant buy a diesel AWD wagon.

You can get a V6 which sucks petrol and develops max torque at 5000rom, WTF?

the whole HFV6 family has been a woeful disaster for GM, horribly underpowered/undertorqued for use in a large car.

and the noise, peak torque might be at 5000rpm, but you'd be scare to spin it that hard, it'll sound like it's about to explode.

Even the cars are making noises:

The part in the article which made me LOL; "Cars being shipped now are said to be free of the issues.". Based on current sales there is already a year's supply of the Opel ZB Commodore in Australia - why on earth would anybody believe that they are shipping more cars???

I had a 210kw Calais V and it was quicker then any 6 falcon I owned, and also substaintually better on fuel. It was an excellent car.

Same here. I've been looking since they were released but have never seen one, so today I drove to my local Holden dealer and stopped outside. Noticed one in the second row which was odd as I thought they would at least be up the front.

Have to say it looked small and very ordinary compared to the past Commodores. Very disappointing so it's easy to see why its not selling.

STILL haven't seen one yet...Not one ..Weird . Numerous Mustangs these days though and our local Cranks and Tinkerers Car Show with over 300 entries in two weeks time will assuredly let me see a whole bunch more ..

Heaven forbid , maybe some one in Tassie might have bought a 'new' Commodore . There'll be a nice spattering of HSV's and Falcon GT's XR's ant Ticky's too. Always is .

This is very early on when a big number of cars including several new Mustangs hadn't arrived yet and before it got too windy for the drone. Was filmed by a local maestro (Bob Oates) with that device . Music by a local artist (Pete Cornelius ) ..Fun day on the June Long Weekend every year ..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpNDYedve_w . Some beaut FPV GT 's always catch my attention ..

Bob's got a brand new fancy drone now , can't wait to see what he does this year ..

Maybe a new Commodore or two this year ..Who knows ?

HSV at least aren't stupid ...Trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear with this homogenised packet of metal , rubber , plastic and fluids would be suicide for them .. You need a car with character , soul and grunt .

The new Commodore fails to the faithful on all these counts it seems despite it probably being a good family car for all we know.

Yet they made a "sportscat" version of the Colorado. I think I would prefer an Opel HSV with some performance mods and character over a Diesel ute sticker pack.
Sure the Sportscat+ has better brakes and suspension, but it shouldn't be worthy of the HSV badge.

Good point ..I was surprised too when they did that but I think I should have added that HSV know that the SUV/4WD is what people want now so to add the HSV touches was worthwhile . Definitely no ball tearer in the truest HSV way but it does look good and a HSV done Colorado might not suffer the same issues as a normal built Colorado perhaps . Scary about how much oil way too many of them get through .

Just guessing but perhaps the converted Camaro is their 'real deal' and will be what most want from HSV anyway .. I hope so because a GM based V8 offering is really what HSV is all about .

There was a ZB on display at Knox Shopping centre up until about 2 weeks ago, was not getting a great deal of interest when I was there, has been pulled and a Colorado is now in it's place.

I've hardly seen a Mondeo until recent months but now there's a station wagon version belonging to a sales rep that I see in the work car park when he visits and a dark blue car that I've spotted a couple of times now about town just parked .

The Commodore , nup , not yet anyway..It's not even being advertised much either is it . She's a goner by the looks ..

Saw my first TV add yesterday but it was strange.

There was a variety of flashes of each model but they were so quick you didn't really get a look. Really seemed like they didn't want you to see it

Could be worthwhile for the Vette, so long as buyers realise they are a $200K + car in Australia.

Personally theres a few 2 seater sports cars on carsales Id Pick over the Vette for that money.
