More so from people who can't afford the overpriced Toyota/Rangers.
I'm no fan but glad for the competition for the dual cab pricing is OTT.
I have a nephew over the years had hilux's/rodeo's and now has top of the line GWM yoot, he luvs it and the bang for buck is where all these things really should sit price wise.
I'll never pay for a Hilux/Ranger price ever again not that I need a new chinese yoot either.
I'll keep my 2010 hilux for it will outlast any of this recent garb.

By the way JAC is a old manufacturer there and look at their subsiduries from way back.

I dont know why they all keep entering the market at the same point, they all have the same spec vehicles at the same price, its always 2L 4 cylinder diesel dual cabs - why no VDJ79 or Hilux Workmate competitor?

I don’t think they’ll eat into the established models sales at nearly twice the price.
They’ll just give more choice to those people FTE217 and myself described above, who can’t afford an $80k Ranger or Hilux.
They overlook a 3-5 year old Tanger/Hilux in favour of something new, even if it is cheap and nasty Chinese POS.
These guys are like those old white dudes who go to Thailand and Phillipines and bag a women half their age then parade them around but are too tone deaf to realise people are embarrassed for them, not impressed.

Realistically how many 70 series are out there being used for the same purpose a Thai special can fulfil, and do a better job at it.
Prob a good 9/10 if private sales.

I d say every 70 series I see on the Gc could be replaced by a Thailux type dual cab. 90 percent of them and there s a shirt tonne of them here - the only off road work they do is climbing a kerb to park on the verge and pulling into the home drive way
But shirt don’t they look good with lift kit big tyres bull bar side steps and that big manly v8 diesel - shirt even if the 2.8 new vjd is more powerful and torquey and has a new dangled six speed auto as opposed to that manly five speed manual with the v8


Anyway I reckon we have reached peak ute - some car and ute coys with narrow model ranges will take a hit.

Toyo advertise on tv that lux stock is readily available on the showroom floor.

I'm not expecting them to eat into established models sales, but all these Chinese companies introducing utes, are all releasing the exact same thing and trying to compete in a saturated market segment but with very mediocre offerings - why come out with something 125KW/400NM, what is the point of difference to the market?

No ones come out with a turbo unleaded job as a point of difference, and no ones come out with a single cab Hilux workmate competitor, they're all trying to compete at the mid range dual cab where there's 400,000 options.

The only thing they are doing is trying to compete on price alone and even then they're not that enticing.

Its like going to the supermarket and looking at the white bread section, theres 500,000 options of white bread and the new one coming next week at option 500,001 I won't even notice.

My local IGA has an entire wall dedicated to white bread.

Yeah, probably the most under invested and mediocre vehicle segment.
The only thing that has changed in the last 20 years is exorbitant asking prices, and that also goes for the Chinese stuff at $50k plus.

Chinese should really shake it up by offering full EV at a decent price, and a petrol hybrid.

I've been wanting this for a while, they've done a 'review' on an Isuzu N series LWB wide cab

Its about the same length as the F150 LWB

Would be good to see them actually load it up and use it in a comparison against similarly priced Thailand Specials.

I hate the AMT - should be a torque converter auto like the US version.
