i just got a au xr8 and near the auto shifter it has a adaptive shift sticker what is it and how do i use it

It learns your driving style and will shift accordingly. Google search will explain in depth

The adaptive shift feature is controlled by the EEC which continuously monitors the the drivers throttle inputs to determine your driving style. It then modifies the shift feel to suit the driving style.
It can be manually programmed to select economy or performance modes. To manually select the desired mode :- 1) stop the car, apply hadbrake and turn ignition off 2) Apply foot brake and move the shifter to : "1" for Performance "2" for economy "3" for adaptive. 3) Turn the ignition to (II) and wait for the airbag warning light to go off. 4) Move the selector to R. The ECON light will flash three times to indicate a sucessful mode change. 5) Return the selector to Park and start the engine. observ the econ light. one flash indicates performance continous illumination indicates Economy no light indicates adaptive. cheers
