Default XR8 dyno readings

Hey guys.

Just wondering what rwkw people with auto XR8s have gotten with mods or without. Finally got around to getting my car booked in for a custom tune in a couple of weeks and wanted to get a rough idea on what to expect. I know all dynos are different just wanted a general idea.

You should get somewhere between 150 and 170.

Going by the kph in your sig id guess you have 170-175 rwkw at the moment and should get 12-15 rwkw gain..... being an auto they will firm up your shift points and overall should feel nice and responsive, well worth the money.

Put your money where your mouth is then. By the way, I meant stock. With a tune, somewhere up around 185 to 195 is achievable with the right supporting mods.

Stock you are correct. For this car specifically 175 is about on the money.

On the money before or after the tune?

Before I would think. Mine ran 175 with a smaller exhaust on a unichip.

By the way, it's just the internet, don't take it so seriously. He wanted opinions, so I gave one.

I got 171rwkw from my auto 220 which had a cat back and K+N, the tuner said it was one of the healthiest 220's he'd seen, some were as low as 155rwkw.

Hence my target of 150 to 170. A lot depends on the car, the dyno, the operator, and which way your tongue is sticking out and how many fingers you have crossed.

Peuty - it's all good to say "That's not right" but when you don't offer a counter figure, it's a bit lame (ie you think you know what's not right, but won't take a stab at what might be)!

Anyway, proof will be in the pudding. I reckon an actual figure of 165 would be expected for an auto 220 in good condition (that's 75% of 220 fwkw, to account for approx 25% losses through the drivetrain).

170 odd from a 220 auto with K&N & a cat back sounds pretty right for a healthy one to me.

Its ok guys just wanted some general numbers nothing rock solid. Looks like I've probably got around 160-170 atm and looking at around 180 afterwards.
I know the manual guys are getting in the 200rwkw area and are down to 13.6s. Im wondering what power I need to crack a 13. Time will tell

I raced a guy at the motorplex who had a auto with full zorst and tune, from memory had 190 odd rwkw and he ran a 14.18 @ 160kph with a 2.27 60ft, So if you went some 3.9 diff gears along with your tune a 13 something wouldn't be a problem.

Yeah thats the next performance mod on the list. Will take the XR8 down the plex after the tune to see where its at first.
Drag season should be coming up soon.

For those of you interested had the tune done today.

Base run was 235.7hp which is around 175kw. Looks like a couple of you guessed right

Ended up with 260.5hp. Around 194kw.

Overall pretty happy with the result.
