Default Houston I Have An Engine........

Well .... as the title suggests I have an engine back in the hole!
Unfortunate timing and circumstance has seen her sitting in the shed looking kind of lonely - first full weekend MOTIV8 is back and I get him out in the shed !!

A new bracket had to be made to house the box......thanks to 1600GT for this - ( its the longest a 1200 has ever looked )

and once that went in, it meant we could start putting things back in.....namely this

Box was gonna go in tonight, but that will now be Wed nite...am still tryin' for the last round of the year, but me thinks i could be cutting it verrrry fine. Mind you, that has never stopped me before...........

Funny how reading back on this you realise how behind the 8 ball you are...!

Well the short version is, I chucked the steering into the racecar, and - well stoofed it big time. Had a full half turn of free play. When it got pulled apart (again)Motiv8 discovered the culprit - I mashed the bearing and it was even missing a couple of balls....

So we hunted for new ones, finally found them just before christmas...

Last weekend the steering went back together, which meant engine could go in, which meant gearbox went in, which meant it came off the axle stands for the first time..... actually since i got it home all those months ago.

Next is the rear end and fuel system, trailing arms, tramp rods, cage and seat and is is literally ready to go.!
