Default First 10sec NA Boss

Just thought we would update you guys on our most recent outing with our NA sedan.

At the AFF nationals on the weekend just passed we managed a 10.86@125. info on the car can be found in the BOSS section in our NA testing thread.

This places the car a full second faster than any other NA Boss in the country, which is an achievement we are quite proud of.

We have found a pic of our car launching on the weekend, ill try to find it and post it up.

We have now set ourselves a goal of a 10.49 or better NA before we put the blower back on.

Thanks for listening.

Chris and team.

Go the Purple Pig.

Well done boys, for a "bitsa" engine it don't go too bad Boss' CAN rev, just don't tell anyone..... lol.

The car will be at another level of mental once the blown combo resides in its engine bay.

1.56 60ft, 99mph half track, car and driver 1650kgs (90kg driver)

Car has been extensively lightened which helps, but in running the car the engine was tapping the limiter at the 1000, so taller gears we are certain it will go even quicker/faster

The block is a standard 302 short with a crank thats seen better days (couple of holes drilled into it to stop cracking). It was put together from left over bits in the shop so everything was second hand. The only difference to the short in a 302 is this one is blueprinted..careful attention paid to ring gaps, deck heights and the like.

The RPM limiter was set to over 8000 to stop us hiiting the limiter going across the line but the engine has seen over 8000 a hand full of times..

This was me and Ryan having go at building our first modular motor and learning more about these engines.
As for the heads they are BPR ported with FG 2568 cams from crow. The aim of this engine is that this is something any customer could do without spending big $$$ or going S/C.

We are also using the Yella Terra plemun and mono blade T/B with our CAI

Full rundown and history here here

I have learnt quite a bit just reading his build threads. His contributions are often utilised by other members.
