Well I clocked up the big 10K yesterday. All things still going great, can't believe how quickly that came around. At this rate I am going to do 40,000Km this year. I hope not. Mind you I have been driving a bit more, you can all guess why. Love my car.

Saw another XR5 today in a lighter blue than the blue ambition. Not sure on what it's called. Looked great and I got a smile from the driver. Nice to see another Mondeo driver around.

Oh yeah, I have a friend that bought a XR8 about 2 months ago and has had some troubles with the engine just switching off (weird) anyway, he has had a TDCi Mondeo as a loan car. Man, talk about nice loan car and he is really liking it. In fact he said, he would mind if they said he could just keep the Mondeo.

Interesting about tinting if you use metallic film it can block GPS and remote operation ?

Are you talking about some kind of strip across the top of the windscreen or the regular tint applied sides and back?

Picked up a new XR5 3 weeks ago, no problems at all. After putting up with a dodgy Territory for the past 4 years I am wrapped with the new Mondeo.

Why would the tint interfere with the GPS when the windscreen isn't tinted in the first place? I did the the regular tinting and haven't experienced any issues. It looks like marketing hype when a company claims non interference especially when regular tinting doesn't cause the problem in the first place.

I'm not stating anything! I'm QUOTING straight from SunGard web site here http://www.sungard.com.au/p_prod_automotive.html second last item why would they mention it if it was not an issue they are the experts

Yes, I see now (said the blind man to his deaf friend).

I work in an industry full of experts & I can tell you that marketing are quite clever. They tell you what the product can overcome knowing full well it's not really a problem in the first place.

Anyway, I don't have their product and I don't have any of the problems they claim can occur if you don't choose their product.

Cheers.

yeh when I saw that I assumed that you can do the front windscreen! but checking out the RTA site your only allowed to cover the top 10% OR the top of the wiper blade coverage anyhow I tend to agree with you

PIcked up my Zetech hatch yesterday. seems to be a rattle in left rear door or B pilar.. not bad, but will get it sussed out.
Stil trying to find that "just right" sitting position, seats are quite firm after my BA. Other then that, Im very happy 24hours and 200KM later.

Teh performance is actually BETTER then i was expecting! Less of a slug, quite good at times. The trip computer says average 10.1 l/100km, my Ba was 11.9 to 12.3 mostly. (I drive hard and live in mountians. lots of big hills to be hill climbed!)

I am impressed that the aradio knows the name of most FM stations. I got my mp3 hooked into it looks neat, sounds good. The auto lights and wipers are cool. The book tells me I got an alarm. i was gunna buy one.

I think it's designed that way for the HIM to work, you press the button, say radio, then station name I assume, stand to be corrected!

At least you're reading the book & not going by that old saying "if all else fails, read the book".

Also there are some things that the book does not cover or explain well as I have found. The Stereo for example has functions (eg. pre-set equaliser) that are not mentioned in the book.

I've put a self indulgent review on my blog of what I think of my Mondeo.

http://viykor.com/index.php?q=node/68

Mods: I had a look to see if this breaks any rules, please let me know if it does. I had a look and couldn't see anything.

The Colonel can give you a link to get the pommy users guide. Send him a PM and ask for it.

The mondy is just purring along now.... One question for you guys though...

Why is it that when i lock the car the indicators don't flash? is that common on all the mondeo's or have i pressed something that has deactivated the flashes. I know its just a very very minor thing but it drives me nuts!!

Flashes on unlock, doesn't flash went locked normally, flashes twice when dead locked which you do by pressing the lock button twice

The problems of low driveways

At least it isn't noticeable when you are looking at the car normally.

Living in Queensland I didn't think that I would need the heated seat feature on the optional leather seats.

However with the recent cold snap (7.5 c yesterday morning) I had the need to use them. What a feature as instead of the leather being cold it was pleasantly warm.

Crikey! I'm just about to give the TDCi a run up to the Gold Coast. I'm not expecting it to be the same temperature as Melbourne. :evil3:

yeh but what going to happen when it's 40 degrees! I always get caught with shorts on hot leather and black color will not help either looks like sheep skin covers may be the next thing I will get

it does get hot in the cabin with black leather, black dash and black carpets. I usually try to leave the sunroof open to tilt when parking it (as long as it is secure). The a/c can be a bit weak to blow the hot out, but it isn't as bad as that in my olf 205 GTi.

I find the heated seats on three just lovely and keeps me nice and warm.
