Default mk2 cortina gt value

Hi everyone, just a quick question. I have the opportunity to buy a mk2 gt cortina but was wondering what it would be worth. It's the earlier model with the gauges on the top of the dash. The engine is not a crossflow. I know the history of the car. It's all original, with nothing really done to it. Almost rust free just a tiny bit in the rear quarters behinf the wheels. Original paint is faded and worn through to the red oxide in places. Anyway, just wondering what people think it is worth?
Thanks for your help.

Had one of those as a daily driver years ago, bought it for $1200 with a trailer load of spares. Unfortunately sold it on two or three years later, should have held onto it

each car will have its own merits but if a dog
without good paint or any restoration ..you will need a parts supply ..approx $5000

if a good mark 1 different story

some prices are too high on trivit .. 18,000 asked for one that sold but final sale price not disclosed

I would agree approx $5000 for a nice original unmolested complete GT that requires a little refurbishment. This price would increase as you tidy it up & get back on the road, which may not cost a lot if most bits are there & in good condition. Locating good condition GT unique parts can be expensive.
good luck

If it's an original 1500cc Mk2 GT it would be quite rare. They used 1500s in the changeover from Mk1 in 67. Would need to do some research if GTs were built as 1500s. All I know back in the day the 1500 Mk2 cranks were sort after as they were 6 bolt as opposed to 4 bolt for all the Mk1 1500 cranks.

Sold a 68/9 genuine Mark 2 GT was a crossflow with all the right bits. I.e, bumperettes, overiders ,fog lights and black out panels just as in the Ford brouchers at the time.
Paintwork needed attention and had Rust in the front of the bonnet and minor elsewhere. approx. $6000.
IF the one your looking at has all the orginal bits and as was in okay type condition it maybe worth more. If it came out as a genuine 1500 it would be fairly rare.
I still have lots of 1500 parts if you decide to buy it and need anything send me a PM.
