Default 2010 LV XR5T A/C problem

My partner has a Focus as listed above and we are having some A/C problems with it.
In Tassie we never noticed a problem with it, but since heading to NW Qld it is having a few issues. As in it cuts out under acceleration - gentle - and will not reset.
Hold on before you say condenser.
Here are some signs and symptoms.
Refrigerant level is ok. This has been checked, weighed out, weighed in. Pressures at idle were fine.
Fans are fine.
Filter on evap is fine. A little dirty, but not clogged by any stretch.
Condenser is not damaged or blocked. Spraying/hosing water over it does not help.
On the drive north we could only get it to run in 35+ temps on fan 3 and very gentle acceleration. If it cut out we needed to turn to A/C off drive for a bit then turn it back on.
Around town you need to cycle it on and off in between accelerating and braking to try and get it to run.
On a trip to the coast recently mid 20's to 30 deg we could only get the system to run on fan 4. But running in fan 4 it never cut out even under WOT acceleration.
When running temps are cold. As in below 10 deg cold, so when it does work it works reasonably well.
Anyone any thoughts??
