Void the warranty? You won't be able to claim paint issues on that section of the bumper but thats about it.

I don't think it will void the warranty except as Martinjosh said about the paint on the bumper. It has voided my insurance so I found out. My insurance company won't let you do any mods to the vehicle that is not done by the manufacture. Not wheels, roof racks or anything. So I have changed them out.

The splitter is the least of my warranty issue.

Shannon's are great and allow mods and depending what you do it doesn't always increase the premium(engine mods will but not by much)

Alliance Insurance was the best price and was arranged through the dealership at the point of purchase. Then we got the discount for having two car insured.
Then we changed the wheels on my wife's Nissan and notified the insurance company as requested.......blah, blah blah.....changed insurance company.

Amazing how little it takes for some insurers to jump up and down over 'modifying' cars. Meanwhile, in the past I've called NRMA (I think it's SGIO for you in the west) to let them know I've changed something else, and they didn't even want to know what it was; it's automatically covered...

I'm the same, called NRMA to notify them of wheels and paint Mods and they stated I didn't have to tell them. Real insurance won't touch my car because I have non factory paint (mirror caps & rear defuser). Also my car is basically all orange peel, so would ford consider warranty issue?

As I couldn't sell them I decided to get my Rims and tyres from my 2009 Fiesta and have them put on my ST. I think they suit it just fine imo. The Bridgestone R002's have lower road noise and make handling smoother than the stock tyres.

We've just driven to Uluru & back from Hobart. Returning via the Great Ocean Road.
5700km.
365L of petrol.
About a cup of oil.
A million bug splats to clean off the front.
No problems.
Not bad for a 9 year old car pushing 159k.
The GOR from 12 Apostles to Apollo bay was a driving highlight.

Don't know much about that place but Revo tunes have a good name in the UK for FiST tuning.

I stayed away form revo because they cost more than their competitors and don't provide a tuning handset to load/unload the tune at your discression.

Happy with my bluefin...

Thanks for the replies. I was looking at the Bluefin early in the year but I held off as it was fairly new. So having had it now for awhile would you recommend it? Is their tech support any good and the gains worth it?

Any USA spec tunes do not work in Australia they use a different engine managemnt setup, only look at euro based setups they will work here

I'm happy with it, but be warned to run anything more than stage one you'll need to purchase the GGR intake.

Same for any of the generic tunes, if you want any more than a basic (but fat) torque increase, you need a CAI.

Early and mid range torque curve is much fatter, ignoring the numbers it makes it much nicer to drive on the street and less need for downchanging.

You'll probably want better tyres soon after as the torque increase definitely hits the limits of the factory tread.

No if you want to run Bluefin stage 2 you MUST use the Graham Goodes Racing CAI, bluefin and GGR have done a deal and setup specifically for that intake.

They say that, but the tune still has to account for altitude air density and temperature changes.

Hey guys. I booked my ST for a check of a squeak sound coming from the front right of the car. This is the 2nd time I've brought it in for the same thing. The first time they said it was the Front Sway Bar links so they replaced them but the problem persisted for 3 weeks. Today the report says in short:

Lubricated and re tensioned control arm struts, tie rods, lower ball joints

Rotate shafts and retention. Road tested OK.

Also I mentioned to them after I got home (forgot to tell them when I was there), that one of the cables is rubbing against a rubber hose on the left side of the engine. The rubber hose has an outer foam thing and that has been worn down by the cable being against it. So the report says:

Incorrect Routing of Hoses. Reroute/rotate hose clamps, lengthen breather and coolant bleeder. Refit engine cover. OK.

Now I checked it when I got home and the same cable is pressing on the hose?? I'm taking it back tomorrow morning to show them. Has anyone else had this issue or noticed it? I think they should at least replace the worn out foam/rubber cover as it looks crap.

There was a guy on another forum that had a similar noise, but I think it may have been left side. He had it back at Ford several time for no resolution last I heard a couple of months ok.

Update. Spoke to the service manager and he said they didn't know what cable I was referring to but said a cable was robbing on the engine cover so they addressed that but not the one in the pics. So it was a 5min fix and I requested a new rubber hose to replace the worn one which they have to order. He personally drove the car yesterday after they lubricated the areas which may fix the squeak but after driving it yesterday and today myself it's still there. The manager said it's definitely not the suspension as they went right through it.
So I guess I'll keep driving it and give it another 3 weeks or just wait until I hit 15,000 for it's service.
