Will be interesting to see what the Oz 2018 model will do, since specs have not been released.

Woohoo I knew it!
Sucks for those who bought the old slow version
Aus wont get the same power as the us,they always have less power.
Either way I think its a pretty mean stock time, quicker than any aus ford ever.

.....meaning the Falcon? It’s dead, it’s been dead for a while and it died with a 6 speed box for a start. What did you think another 4 gears behind a 2018 Mustang would do? Yawn

Flat 12, that's a pretty good time considering.... it's naturally aspirated and smaller motor than it's rivals?

The 2019 GT 500 should be interesting, If this is it it sounds like it's got plenty of go:

How did you put 1 and 1 together and come up with that?
I meant the previous model mustangs
Either way if I had rushed out and got a 2016/17 mustang id be absolutely spewin... a 13 second car does not compare to a low 12 second car.

That’s what happens with cars though. A newer faster version gets released.

Will you be ‘spewin’ buying a 2018 if a 2020+ Mustang cracks below 12.0?

It’s like those people who wait for the newest and fastest PC or Phone to be released before they buy one.

That new 5.0 has a 7500 red line, imagine what she'd do with a bit of massaging..

Over 14,000 Mustangs sold in Australia so far, that must give FoA a bit more heart..

Literally the whole point of my last reply, and hence why 2016-2017 Mustang owners wouldn’t be spewing.

Owning a Ford pony is not about the fastest times... Rather it is a time machine!

The nameplate has a way of taking us back in time, it conjures up memories, dreams and nostalgia because it has stood the test of time.

When you buy a Mustang... You are not just buying a car... You take ownership in an icon.

I think I just threw up a little, but great passion!

This 5.0 just gets better and better, I cant even put into words how much id love to drop on in a B series XR8.

I saw a gorgeous brunette driving a new Mustang around the Kiama bends a couple of weeks back. She wouldn’t be ‘spewin’ - she had the 4 cylinder
With her behind the wheel it looked faster than the 2018 V8

Hopefully she’s not as ‘all show, no go’ as a 4 cylinder mustang!

Its probably more to do with the 8 speed auto than the engine itself.
For B series XR8 - just supercharge it. MFP are making some great gear / manifolds now for the older Boss engines.

The transmission can help with ET, but won't give it that mph. That's hp.

Great, donor parts for Falcons when someone gets adventurous and writes one off. A 12 second N/A Fg would be nice

I'm not spewing, love mine and it's fast enough for me. Got it early at a good price and money left over for mods. That's what I've enjoyed the most with this car, the mods have made it my Mustang.

It's only "less powerful" because we use a different power rating system.

Plus the Mustang is 250kg lighter than an XR8.
There's also a dyno video on YouTube, the car, making 415 RWHP. I guess revving the thing to 7500 lets you make more power too.

Pretty impressive results.

At the end of the video you can really hear how quick that 10 speed box shifts. I’m sure the box has helped a lot with the times. Will be interesting how the manuals perform when they get out on the track.

Wonder if they have sorted out the headers on the rhd market cars in the new model.

Look forward to them coming into the country next year. The aftermarket world is already ready for them with both whipple and Ford performance/roush already realeasing their supercharger kit for it. Seems the autos will be 10sec cars pretty easily.
