Default MC Mondeo - cam belt/chain & Eco/tdci opinion

Hi,

Few questions as couldn't find the answer, I'm looking at either a 2011+ mc mondeo titanium with either diesel or ecoboost. I believe the diesel is chain driven but is the ecoboost chain or belt driven?

Also, if belt driven, at how many kms/years is it due to be replaced? (And cost)

Finally, I travel 50 kms total every day (5 days a week) to work (25 each way) with smaller trips on days off, would that be ok for the Diesel engine or is that type of kms better suited to me getting an ecoboost as I've read diesels don't like shorter trips.

Thanks in advance

EcoBoost is chain driven. In terms of driving distance 25 km each way doesn't constitue a short trip.

Cheers

Extract from the Service Guide;

Additional Scheduled Maintenance Items:

Every 10yrs or 200,000kms - Camshaft drive belt, tensioner and idler (Renew - 2.0L Duratorq TDCi)
Every 10yrs or 200,000kms - Auxiliary Drive Belts (Renew 2.3L Duratec HE, 2.0L Duratorq TDCi & 2.0L EcoBoost SCTi)

I would just flip a coin; TDCi or EcoBoost...both great cars!
