Suspension set up using caltracs

Hi Guys,

What experiences have people had with setting up caltracs. I was thinking the split mono-leaf rear suspension and am guessing 90/10 shocks and probably six cylinder springs on the front.

I am running a 800hp 440 cube XW falcon, and trying to get it to hook up with 275 radials.

any help would be appreciated

what times are you looking to run? how heavy is the car?

I am aiming for mid 9's, it is still very much a street car. I haven't weighed it yet, but it'd have to be around 3800lbs I would say.

We have it set up with a 400 shot of nitrous too, but am thinking it'll need a progressive controller to bring it on

we run standard style Capri leaf springs with Strange double adjustable shocks (no springs) on the front is a set of Koni 60/40 (makes it a little harder to wheelstand) with the Caltracs. will try and find a picture, or if i remember take one when go to the brother's next time.

My XT weighs 3600 lbs with me in it (Alloy headed clevo,C4,9")

Simon (Grencapri408) set up my caltracs, maybe he can help
The calvert racing shocks are a good thing too

Made our own caltracs back in the mid 90's (didn't even know that's what they were called but copied them from a small pic in Hot Rodding mag) for my XB coupe. Ran 6cyl XA Fairmont front springs, 90/10 shocks and no swaybar up front. The rear I removed a leaf on each side (maybe 2?) and ran standard factory green XY rear shocks. The car sat a little lower on one side than the other but was great on the strip; tracked straight and lifted the front equally on each side when launched. I didn't like them on the street though, probably should have taken the preload out of them? Oh and it was a manual.
