Question The Nitty Gritty FG to FG-X what's changed?

As we know Ford always change things during model years adding this deleting that changing supplier getting it cheaper or changing a part for something better etc...

With that said I haven't looked much into FG-X but what has changed in the finer detail's?

Eg. I heard they now use a different Amp and Sub woofer premium audio.

There has to be some knowledge on these things and one thread for all that info would be cool.

Thanks guys I have currently traded my Xr6 for a new beast that breaths forced fire so keen to learn on FGX.

tl;dr tell me more on the things ford changed from Fg to Fgx

Foam support behind the front bar now, replaces that annoying eggcrate looking crap in FG. Revised wiper blades (although I believe some very late FGII builds received them too).

In the last month I have seen more Ford advertisements on TV than any other brand.

The new one with the girl in the blue dress (yes she is back) even has a Falcon in it OMG

Great always disliked those.

Noticed when looking at Fg-x at dealer when you select aircon etc it now tells you on center display cluster.

Interior lights on Button gone now Parking sensor switch.

anybody know about the sound system changes?

thanks hope to compile a list of things.

Wait a minute.

We have effectively a 'new' model series & the best you guys can do is that paltry list of 3 items. It's really only a list if 2, the useless advertising strategy is not a model 'improvement'.

The leather is a different type, softer than before. The dash trims are revised, the seat cushion has been altered to address height issues. Obviously the front and rear are very different. The wipers have rain sensing. But really, it is improvements in the range, rather than a massive re-design.

that's why it's an FGX not a new product. Same as PX becoming PX2 rather than PU it reflects the amount of rehomologation required

Is the 6sp n/a gearbox a Chinese sourced unit now or just a stupid rumour from Drivel to put Falcon down.

On the base model, XR6 and G6E, yep. The XR6T, G6ET and XR8 all stay with the "good" ZF.

Doesn't mean the quality is inferior in any way to the German box. I doubt ZF would allow that to happen.

Yep, that's why I said "good". It can't handle as much power as the "good" box, but it doesn't need to behind the NA I6.
