Front ones will be 19x8.5'' +30, and rear 19x9.5'' +20 offset. As far as tyres, I've narrowed it down to Kumho KU31's, 245's front & 275's rear, still at least couple of weeks away.

Well fate had its own version of events today.

I was on the way to tyre shop to fit my new wheels & tyres, when a 78 year old merc driver decided to disregard give way sign and t-bone my car, passinger side

I'm not hurt, the mica unit & mfb came for the elderly gent, he had trouble breathing. Mica unit ended up taking him to hospital.

My car needs major repair, front suspension, headlight, bumper, qtr panel, both doors, side skirt etc. It might even be a write off, if not able to find replacement parts, which I know are very hard to find.

I'm shattered...

Gees mate, so sorry to hear the bad news. Glad to hear you are fine. Best of luck to the old chap. I hope your car is able to be repaired with the best quality parts and workmanship available.
You must also be spewing about the wheels.
Oh man, sad, sad news indeed.
Looks like it was in Port Melb.

Thanx Jack, yes it was on Bay st, 2min away from where I live.

As far as parts, it will be hard to find genuine front bar, headlight and side skirt.

Not good to see mate..
Good that you are ok though...

I don't think it will be as hard as you think...
Have a bit of a hunt around and tell the insurance you'd like to help supply parts so the T does not get written off..!!

Headlight bezels can be repainted to suit, front bars can be found and sideskirts are the same as XR ones, are they not..?

Keep positive mate, it could have been a lot worse..!

Good luck with it Bud...

Thanks everyone for the words of support, means a lot to me at this time.

Tony, good luck mate with repair of your car as well, I hope shannons agrees not to write it off.

I've stopped bugging myself over it, honestly I just dont have any nerves left.

The car is insured for $16.5K and I just dont think the repair cost will be less than $12.5k, which is 75% of the car value

I already started looking around for replacement car, I have to be ready if they decide to write it off, because I need a car for work. Once hire car expires, I'm stuffed, public transport to work is out of question, because of my work hours and w/ends.

I'm thinking something like BA G220, full of fruit inside, they're pretty cheap atm, lowered with the wheels I've got, quad exhaust would make it a nice daily cruiser.

Bud, not good, but glad you are ok. I would say depending on damage near B pillar would be write off. You wouldn't want this car if repaired.

Well, its official now, its a write off. Car has been taken away on friday.

Quote came up to around $14k+, and honestly considering the amount of damage, its better that it got written off. Even if repaired, it would never be the same again. The floor on the pass side is bent quite a bit, needed a whole new section.

I'm at peace now, hunting for a replacement car.

I'll be selling ORSMT-2 plates as well, if anyone is interested.

Yes it was a great car and I will miss it.

But life goes on. Last sunday I found my next car. BA G220, '03, in Blue Pearl with Redline leather, it's already fitted with vapor injected gas system, which is a bonus, since I'll be using it daily, cheap to run.

Took it for a test drive last sunday and loved it! It drives really well for such a big, heavy car. Love the torque of a 3v!

It's done a few kays, but the overall condition of the car is excelent, owned by mature owner who looked after it well.

Got it for $14.5k with 12months rego and rwc. Left a deposit and should pick it up by the end of the week.
