Default XR5 - 2yr service

Hi guys,

My XR5 is up for it's 2nd service (30,000kms by the book).

I am wondering what people have had to pay for the XR5 to get a service.

The quotes I have had are all > $500

Last time it was an oil + filter change, plus pollen filter, plus visual checks! I think this time around it is very similar, except I will also need to get brake fluids replaced.

The car has only done 12,000kms! $500 sounds a bit over the top! Anyone had it done for a reasonable price?

I am in Sydney, and happy to travel a little bit to get a good job done at a fair price. If I am paying good money, I'd rather pay a specialist place like MRT than the stealership.

Cheers.

That seems very expensive to me.
I paid $260 for my 15,000 service.
No pollen filter in that.
Did you get a wheel alignment and balance?

I am also due for my two years service (23,500 km by then) and was expecting around the $300 mark.
If Ford are going to charge that amount, I won't be going to them!

Well, I just had a 45,000km service on my XR5 I'm selling by Lube Mobile. They did it in their workshop, as I work next-door in Silverwater. It was $350. They used OEM parts (oil, etc). I was pretty pleased.

Just an update - I took mine to an independent mechanic.
$300 for me - it was the "30,000km service", and also got him to do the brake/clutch fluid replacement as it is 2 yrs.
Car has only done ~13,000 kms.

I've been informed the rear brakes are wearing faster than the front (about 60% at rear, as opposed to 70% at front). The mechanic said this was common with some european cars...

I got a great deal ($265) on 45k service at Sinclair Ford through Michael Groom (entheos) as per the attached link. You have to be a member of the forum.

Great service, highly recommended dealer.
