yeah that was brilliant - shopping centre in Putney South London

That was pretty crazy - the risk for damage with the crazy Vette was quite high !

Default The Ford driving enjoyment for the masses revolution

This Fiesta like most other recent Fords, such as the Falcons, the Mondeo and the Focus, represents a true democratisation of the quality driving experience.

20 years ago you used to have to pay huge sums of money and buy a BMW or a Porsche to get true driving pleasure. Now there is one other brand that gives it to us for virtually peanuts.

Here is the link.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_ab6i3lZBk

I think we should send this link to everyone we know so we can make the world see how Ford has turned around over the last 10 years into one heck of a cool car company. If someone as a consequence buys one we would have been responsible, in these gloomy economic times, for bringing some joy into someone's life.

That was one of the most entertaining Top Gear skits I've ever seen.

"is it easy to park?"..."yes, it's got windows, it's got steering wheels... there... next?"

It is Green?

Shows a couple of angles of a fluro green Fiesta

Yes.

I just wouldn't like to be the poor bugger that ends up with this after Ford are finished with it. It won't rust much will it?

Top Gear GOLD!

Even my wife loved it. She said "Now why don't they do the comercials for cars like that?".

Listening in Ford Marketing Department??

She would be your typical demographic for that sort of car.

Make the comercials as exciting as that and it will appeal to both men and women.

I went to the drive day yesterday for the new Fiesta near the Gold Coast. It is a really nice vehicle in the flesh, they are onto a winner with the way it looks. It drives well and the interior is a massive improvement. The vehicles coming to Australia are also built in Germany. Younger buyers are going to love it. We just have to get it out there!

Nothing on the XR4 sorry, and my codesheets have no XR4 on them either. I am hoping to see XR4 again sometime soon. If so, I am hoping for a turbo this time to compete with Polo GTI! That would be awesome.

That's a shame. I hope they do decide to go down the route of an XR4. I agree with the idea of a turbo. Using the 2.0 litre engine, with turbo on a car that's 40kg's lighter than the current model, it would have to be a real win for ford. I guess if they did that, then the focus should get an increase as well.

Thanks for the info

I thought that we're getting the Thailand made Fiesta's which would reduce shipping costs and gives us a cheaper base price to compete with cheaper and inferior cars (ie barina and yarris and gets). perhaps the XR4 would come from germany like the Focus XR5?

Usually the Fiesta and Focus STs will be manufactured about 2 years after the normal models released.

Initial suppies of Fiesta are from Germany. Thai production wont start until late 09 early 2010 so this is when Ford will shift supply. This is probably why they are running the same pricing despite announcing price increases for other models - just eat the costs until Thai production starts. I would assume you are correct in terms of future XR4 sourcing being from Germany though....
