I don't have one (yet) but don't you just pull the knob? I mean the one for the lights on the dash.

But then again, if it's only a loaner, it probably doesn't matter what you do in it.

I would assume you turn it clockwise once then pull.

Speaking of pulling knobs... leave the lights off. We live in Australia, not Germany where it gets foggy all the time. Just because they're fitted doesn't mean you need to use them!

As it's a European car, it has FOG lights, not driving lights. It also has a rear fog light, so whatever you do, don't pull the switch out all the way if you do decide to use the foggies. The rear foglight on in daylight should be punishable by a month in a Zimbabwean jail.

whether we have them on or not is irrelevant, when considering purchasing a car, its nice to know how everything works on the demo that we are test driving. especially when it doesnt come with an instruction manual.

anyway, thanks everyone for your help.

this thread can get closed now before someone else complains about "driving/fog/whatever" lights being used in Australia.

I am a bit militant, but I make no apologies for that. It's not me you need to argue with anyway, it's the lawmakers! :

Enjoy the car. I had one for a week too, they're a nice car, very refined. Lacking in power but for the target market, that's not really an issue. My sister certainly loved it to bits, her friends went wild for it. That's exactly the desired result in the right customer segment, not me!

Stereo's an absolute raging beast. Really impressive.

Climate control's pretty funky.

Auto headlights and wipers are really trick.

It's a very impressive car.

The foglight beam is really well designed, low and wide.
There would be more chance of blinding drivers from your normal low beams.
I use mine on country roads at night the light up the sides of the road a bit more, or during the day to show people "hey, I have foglights!" And of course in fog.

Keep in mind the H8 bulbs used in the foggies are pretty expensive to replace compared with the H7s used in the headlights.

I also use the rear foglight when driving towards blinding sunglare - Most people have their sunvisors down to see only a few metres in front of them, and they'll see the light of the foglight before the rear lights.

Good idea. I never thought of that - I always fit a towbar for rear-facing protection.
