Having owned both, I must say that the screen used on the Sync 3 is heaps better. It is like a new mobile screen that does not show up fingerprints. My old Sync 2 looked terrible with finger prints and glare...
I recall reading something saying there was a version that could update after a certain build date which also brought the digital Speedo. But that was just my understanding.

The digital speedo is only available with Sync 3 Titanium models, as far as I know.
