Default New Purpose For Holden Factory

As detailed by Drive..

https://www.drive.com.au/news/former...m-farm-report/

To be perfectly honest, the article is a bit of a letdown. I was hoping for more information on the mushrooms instead of a recap of holden's history...
2/10, would not recommend.

Cheers, Tony

Perfect - Holden been treating Australians like mushrooms for ages.

Feeding us **** and keeping us in the dark, this is poetic

Wasn't it sold to a Vietnamese mob to continue making or developing cars?

Or was that the Ford factory?

I was in Vietnam mid Jan and not seeing Vinfast cars out on the road before I have to say some of their models were very good looking and on doing some searching found they used BMW architecture initially which probably explained why the sedan Vinfast Lux A2.0 and SUV Vinfast Lux SA2.0 I saw looked great on the road...think 5-series and X5 size and looks...
and the Vinfast President uses a GM 6.2L V8

They looked promising, they poached a lot of ex Holden staff too, I wonder if they kept the engineers and took them to Vietnam?

Sad they couldn't make it work here, they did in the US:

Out of everything, mushrooms as well.

Worst item you'll receive on your plate BY FAR.

That’s highly subjective.

I remember Wheels running a story on it. From what I recall the Holden guys wanted to do things certain ways (the right way), and the Vietnamese guys wanted to do it the cheap way, and the aussie guys were getting frozen out. By the sound of it they just pulled the plug and went their own way.

Also covid caused significant hassle for the vietnamese to travel here. Which I also think had something to do with the aussies getting frozen out of what was going on.
