Thumbs up Club Dyno Day

G'day All,

Just a quick reminder that Saturday is the Club Dyno Day at Bob Romano Performance Motors. These days are a great way of seeing how you car is going and for getting some sound advice from Bob and Chris Romano on the best ways to enhance your cars performance to boot.

All details of the day can be found in the latest Events Calendar or you can call Grant (Grunter) or any of the events crew for info on the day. I hope to see you all there.

Cheers,

Ken

I would say this is a club event and that it is only open to financial club members. I'm keen to see what the stock TS50 will make, my guess around the 190rwkw.

I wonder what Bobs dyno reads as opposed to Chiptorques?

Will be interesting to see if it reads more or less.

Hi guys and gals,

Just a quick note for those who are keen to have a run on Saturday, that there are some spots left.

If your a club member and would like to get a run on a calibrated Dyno Dynamics dyno and get either a base line for future mods, or just to see what numbers your beastie runs up, then this is your chance.

Don't forget that even if your not having a run, it's always a good morning to see some of the club cars roaring up close, plus there's plenty of information to be gained from the day. Haltech are sending up one of their own to talk about the products they can offer, plus information on the BA/AU "edit/flash" tuning and also what can be done for earlier XR's will be available from the Romano team on the day.

As we need the numbers finalised, please shoot through an e-mail to events@xrclub.com with your name by tomorrow and we'll put you down for a run.

I wont be putting my car on a dyno (probably blow the poor old girl up) :

but since I haven't managed to be on the last few outings, I will definitely be trying to pop down to say hello and to see how everyone's beasts go..

See you all there

G'day all,

Well what a fantastic day at Bob Romano's. Great weather and some very well presented cars. As promised it was a great base line for those looking to enhance their cars performance. Some very sound advice was given and I am sure we will see some more quicker cars in the Club after a few went home with the bug.

A huge thank you must go to Bob, Ester, Chris and the team at Bob Romano Performance Motors for their time and effort today. The workshop is always busy and some huge hours are worked by the team so it is very much appreciated that they gave up yet another Saturday to host the day. Chris we even forgive you for that red ute you are driving.

I am not sure if Grunter got the final figures from Chris but if he has we will try and post them here for you all.

Cheers,

Ken

Well, I had a great time! Thanks to the guys at the shop, you know how to rev a engine! :

However I am disheartened with the turn out of the 6's. And the T6's also, all 3 of the 6's inc my car kens and a gold BA XR6 na (sorry forgot your name) all pulled over 200 hp. I’m sure everyone wants to see more 6's attend events and Id love to see more AU EF/EL and EB/ED XRs strutting their beauty.

We need more 6's to embarrass the 8's

Ken I took your advice, 3rd is the money gear!

G'day All,

Now pay attention you Sixes, see what Drew has written above and take notice.

I am speaking to you now as a driver of a Six and not the El Presidente`. Yet again it was left to a few to cop a hiding (only in words as the numbers that came from Drew and Michael's cars yesterday were very respectable) at the hands of the eights. There were rumblings about how the sixes were scared to show their faces as they know the eights are going to beat them every time and quite a few other things that the Gentlemen that drive sixes would never utter in mixed company but those other ruffians use anytime.

It is time to take the fight to them. There are as many sixes as eights in the Club so lets see a few more out there competing, don't be shy come and join in the fun. Unless you have a go, and this goes for both camps, you have no right to bag the other team and sledging is fun.

Cheers,

Ken

Well said Ken!

Maybe the sixes are just waiting for the skid pan day to show how they don’t need huge HP figures to get more sideways action than a Coles shopping trolley!

Come on all you E series, our cars have a weight and height advantage so lets out there and forget your responsibilities for 5 mins

And not just talking about E series….AU’s are getting rare now! ROB IM TALKING TO YOU!

I know some one out there knows how to change the HP into KW for our cars, just curious how many KW I ended up with from the Dyno last weekend.
334HP = ? KW.
Thanks

That sounds very impressive
To get the KW figure divide the HP by 1.34
If this is wrong i'm sure someone here will tell me

No Matt I must insist that you be classed as the funny one.

I reckon you could change the name but the Club would shrink from 293 cars to about 145 in foul swoop.

By the way I can't quite remember the figures you spun up on Saturday.

Cheers,

Ken

I was not able come because I had to work, and on Sunday little hughie was sick with Tonsillitis all weekend.... Besides my ute is not beast at the moment. CPU is all wrong with the changes I have made to the exhaust and throttle body. Last run it only made 290rwhp... it's a bit sad...But not for long. very soon it should have close to 400rwhp.... fingers crossed
