My car at the moment (EFII Ghia) has a 2.5" exhaust system on it and sounds alright but still sounds a little quiet for my tastes. The system mimics that of the stock exhaust system with mufflers all in the same place, difference being it is 2.5" with a hotdog in the tailpipe. I was wondering what would be the best way to get more noise and possibly power out of it. I was thinking of removing the huge centre muffler and putting either a straight through pipe or another hotdog muffler. The exhaust place that did the original 2.5" exhaust however recommended that I should just get a straight through pipe at the rear of the car instead of have a hotdog and this would produce the required noise. I would also like it if the car had minimal drone but a nice exhaust crackel when I back off the gas. Looking forward to hearing your responses.
Cheers, Dave

Yeh, I was hoping to avoid more mods that i'd have to declare to insurance also replacing muffler would be alot cheaper than extractors... I've got a mate with a discovery v8 and extractors and it made a huge difference to the sound of it. Any more ideas guys?
