Question HDD Multimedia

Hi Fadi.
I'm looking to install an MG-25 (or similar) HDD Multimedia device into my Territory for playing all media, but especially mp3s. Obviously it needs constant video for menu navigation.
It looks like all I really need is something to convert Component Video (Y, Pr, Pb) to RGBs and connect to the ICC input, and a booster cable for stereo audio.
I also want a Composite Video-in for a reversing camera.
I have the diagram for the RGBs input to the ICC.
Do I need your $420 manual unit? Will it do separate Component and Composite inputs? Do you have a stand-alone (read cheaper) Component to RGBs converter? Can it be installed to switch to cam when reversing even if the video is in use by the MG?

Thanks in advance,
Ross

Hi Ross,
It appears you dont need a Component to RGB converter. The MG-25 has composite out. It doesnt specify if the Stereo outputs are RCA but I am sure something could be worked out. All you would require is a normal converter. We can supply these to operate your MG-25 and a reverse camera and yes it will switch to camera when reversing even if the video is in use by the MG.

Cheers

Thanks Fadi.
They supply cables which convert their phono-outs to RCA (up to 6 of them for Y, Pr, Pb video and either left & right audio or digital coaxial audio) so I just need something to convert to RGB and provide the sync. Of course tidy cabling and switching would be a bonus. Can you give me some detail and price please?

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Ross

Oh yeah - the only reason I wanted component was for the higher quality.
If your experience is that it doesn't matter much for the small ICC screen and that the quality of the composite is perfectly reasonably, then I can save myself the money and hassle I suppose. The MG-25 provides both.

I wouldn't worry about using Component. Regardless you would probably lose some quality converting from component to RGB. The picture is great using composite. Anyhow the kit is the same price regardless of the single or dual input for reverse camera.
