Pretty rare in Austraila, I had a mainstream 1980 RS2000 orange 2-door.
The ones sold here had to comply with ADR27A and had 2V Weber and
a decel valve on the intake manifold and the standard body.

Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're an idiot than to open it and remove all doubt.

Ive seen this car (at the SFS in VIC, did you come over for that?), the best thing you can do to your car is de-rice it, remove the bonnet mural thing and bring it to stock, the car deserves it.

I know thats a harsh comment but they are very rare here, and good ones get decent money in the UK.

If you would like to sell it id be interested in the asking price.

So far I've seen about 7 or 8 X-packs around the web in Aus. Saw your Xpack at SFS this year too. Lots of owners on he classic ford forum. Unsure of a value on them but i'd say around 20-25k

Whether they are genuine or not is another thing.

Does anyone know if it is recorded on the ID tags or anything like that?

the X Pack wasnt offered here as a factory / dealer option. extremely rare cars, if genuine. the body kit needs to have the Ford logo embossed, but beyond that, i dont know how to tell an original from a fake. as far as i know, most of the bits that set them apart from other Escorts could be easily bought. some pics would be nice :-)

Sorry double post or forgot where I was up to. But as per Gerry said,There was no factory/dealer delivered RS2000 Xpacks for the australian Market, they were dealer/motor sport fitment only in the Uk.
We were able to option up aus deliverd cars with Group 1 equipment such as twin down draught webers, diff options etc........

BTW I have a 2dr Rs2000 (factory auto rare as) 5 speed fitted for sale now if anyone is interested. yep the one in the avatar.<<<<<<<<<<<

Here is the best angle of it, I have a pic of the front but its on another computer.

I know the old saying each to their own but sometimes some things should be left alone.

so look before you leap in future.. being a LWB enthusiast is irrelevant to basic car knowledge.

There are stuff all genuine RS2000's around relatively speaking. I was hunting one out 10 years ago and gave up on the idea..

My best mate has a genuine 4 door RS2000 with the Mexico RS wheels, he bought it when he was 16yo and that was 14 years ago, he has done maybe 5000km's in it in that time and would not part with it for the world. He doesn't drive it for fear of it being in accident with it such is the sentimental value to him.

I've owned my factory Midnight Blue 4 door manual RS2000 since 1990, will NEVER part with her no matter what happens.

While she is not perfect and certainly is not an X Pack, she is pretty classy looking gal that turns head where ever she goes.....

If anyone is looking for one I have tracked down a Pine 'n' Lime 4 door that has been hibernating in a shed for nearly twenty years......... owner has finally decided to part with it, PM me if interested details here

Cheers
