That's a lot of coin for a series one Fairmont with those km's, granted it is a nice car. I also have to factor in $1500 for a manual conversion as well. The body kit on that is so nice. I've got an XR8 to look at here in Canberra in the next week or so too.

Yep, see how that one is, 5k is a number probably thrown out there to factor in negotiation, you could probably get it for 3-3.5 and for that I'd be happy, you'd be in it for 5 grand which would be reasonable in my opinion.

Agree, for 5k all said and done it would be a really nice car. I'm pretty set on a S2 or S3 though.

Yeh chasing manual and not spending more than 10k, they are out there, just waiting quietly for as long as it takes.

Funny, I keep putting the price up on my XR8 on CarSales because I not that interested in selling the car anymore but I still get buyers.. But for $17,500.. Think I'll let it go this time.

$17500 gets a lot more car than an AU XR8. I'd be taking it and running. That's FG XR8 money and the FG is a hell of a car. Unless it's a super low km example with heaps of extras and manual then maybe collectors would. I let a T3 in blueprint go a month ago for 23k with only 50,000km on it because it was auto, that would have been a good buy but i wasn't willing to swap it to manual being such a rare car in that condition.

EDIT: Just found yours Bolly, nice car but i'd be taking that $17500

Still thinking about it.. He's given me 2 weeks to decide..
Once I've sold it, I'll Never be able to replace it..
Ps.. There's plenty of FG's around, but not many low ks AU XR8's.. :-)
Cheers

This one looks alright. AU Fairmont V8, tickford body kit, converted to a manual and seems to have a hand built engine.

Rang that guy, super dodgy, fair few issues as well. I don't need an immaculate example, just something that has been cared for and well looked after.

Times have changed...my immaculate 4yr old ls3 clubsport was the lowest on car sales at 39k. Because it was manual I didn't get one call in 6 months. Ended up selling for 31k.
All the autos went in days for higher prices, even ls2's. A few years ago now.

You need to get out of that 've, they're junk!

A few years ago........... in the last 12 months manuals are gone in weeks, autos are still there for months. I spent 12 months looking, i looked at around 20 all up. The VE will sell for what i bought it for or more, already had offers. There aren't many around that haven't been flogged anymore, just look on carsales, only 4 available manuals in NSW and VIC with my specs and they have all been flogged. I'm happy to keep it until i find what i want, love the sound and love swapping cogs.

Anyway, anyone sees an AU XR8 let me know.
