Question Reverse lamps

I have recently purchased a 95 ef fairmont but it has no reverse lamps,i have checked the bulbs and fuse but to no avail,where do i go from here?.

Check the relay or the switch on the transmission. There are probably more scientific places to check but if you start small there's a high chance that it's a cheap component.

Change the inhibitor switch on the transmission.

Like most auto's, this controls reverse lamps as well as the neutral/park start.

changed the inhibitor switch but no differance.

With the ignition on, check you are getting power at the switch

Sorry if i sound like i have limited knowledge on what to do but do i turn the ignition on until the dash lights up,do i put the gear selector in reverse or just leave it in park and which wire(colour) do i prod at the inhibitor,i have pulled the tail light out and tested at the bulb but no power getting to that at all.

Leave in park.
Turn key to "on"
Climb under car and make sure there is power at switch.

Finally got a chance to look at the switch,tested it and there is no power at all getting to it,where to from here.

Also there is power at the fuse that is in the fuse box on the right hand lower side of the steering wheel.
