I'm sure someone would have a photo or two of the original building(s). Would be good to get a hold of 'em for a scrap book. Have enjoyed chasing clues on this little treasure hunt. I believe we have found gold.

hey grnkpr, is it possible that this is where ford had their "skunk works" where the phase 4 was being built before it was canned. just a thought may be wrong though :

Yep, that's what I found out at work from someone tonight. Skunk Works was there, Yellow shed. On the corner at the lights that lead to the ring road crossover. It's also featured in the GT DVD apparantly.

GM in the US used SS name long before we did, SS chevelles, Comaros's etc from the 60's.

Default LOT 6 Found

Just got off the phone with the current owners of the site, the benefits of having your number in your sig LOL.

This is not another "I think it was here" call, this is bonafide fact, they just had Ford do some filming for a doco at the site recently.

They were inititally approached by a Ford historian about the site who explained to them the significance of the building. It's all pretty much the same except for the front window that has been changed/replaced.

Anyway just thought I'd update the thread, but I may have some more news in future as I will be staying in touch with the owners.

What is it with GT owners having to start picking apart every GT that it has the wrong bits etc on it?
Its happening all the time and normally its the same names doing it.
Honestly who would want to own something from the era with all the nit picking? I know it makes me have no desire to have another one.................

Dude why worry about what others think, best advice I could give to anyone is this, build it because you like not because others might like you for it

Stress less

When I was about 13 my sisters ex took me to a tip somewhere out in cambellfield very secure place had to know the guard to gain access once inside it was a ford mans paradise .especially at the time early 80s there was ford parts everywhere waiting to be crushed (lights guards)with little scuffs they couldn't sell I suppose or damaged in manufacturing.i was too young too really appreciate it but my sisters ex took heaps of parts.I remember picking up a set of xD taillights looked brand new for dads car.
